This storyline was, in my opinion, the best in the show. I loved Edith's transformation.

Cassandra Jones turning out to be Spratt is one of my favorite plot twists

Edith's fashion in the later seasons was unmatched! She was so fabulous.

Edith has such a musical tonality when she talks

Rest In Peace Maggie Smith. Everyone will always remember you as one of the greatest actresses in the world.

I loved how Bertie just jumped in to help her and praised her work.

Matthew was such a good pal for Sybil and Edith, he's so supportive of her plans 🥰

Bertie saying that he can carry bits of paper and make coffee is is one the most romantic scenes of the whole series

Edith is always been much more than she appears to be but nobody gave her a chance until this man that owned the newspaper

I’m so glad Fellows developed Edith’s character before the end of the series. After years of seeing her always ‘the odd man out,’ the dartboard of her bully sister, made effectively a widow, jilted at the alter by another, and chastised for the mere idea of a career, who among us didn’t celebrate when her stars finally aligned!

She certainly blossomed into a swan and in the end she outranked them all.

I did enjoy this storyline very much. Edith transformed from the envious and spiteful middle sister (who even rubbed Sybil the wrong way at times) to an interesting and independent woman. I remember the story was full of starts and stops, and I was often impatient with her ("c'MON, Edith!). However, it really was a big change for her especially for that time and being a woman and not very confident in herself. The slow build and her self-doubt and uncertainties along the way made the progression seem so real, and we got to see her slowly realizing her own strength and value. Loved it!

Edith was my favorite of the three sisters. She really came into her own in later seasons and handled her setbacks with much more grace and dignity than Mary ever did.

Edith’s growth was my favorite story arc.

Edith and Spratt have the best plot twists in the series

Loved watching this. Loved how Edith found new life after Gregson was killed. I remember the first time I saw the part about Spratt being the "agony aunt" I had to pause the disk and laugh for 5 minutes straight. He would've been the last person you'd suspect! Love the clothing and hairstyles of this era. When I was a junior and senior in high school I took a cosmetology course and every Monday was dedicated to finger waving. We thought it was such a waste (it was since no one wore their hair this way anymore) but only later did I see how pretty it really was. Edith really rocks the style.
