Imagine Jeremy Wade catching the fish and Gordon Ramsay cooking it.

that’s the dude who tried to beat up spongebob

I live in Southeastern Alaska and it's good to see those big ones put back every once in awhile they can repopulate the area I appreciate that Jeremy

I heard he caught this just for the halibut

Does he still have the pickles under his tongue?

2:28 Jeremy tries phishing

I love how when Jeremy is in the helicopter he looks like he's about take down a dictator.

Jeremy Wade has the most relaxing voice

"They're quite ill mannered"😂😂😂😂

I like how the reel changes from gold to blue about 3 times during the fight.

I can’t believe he went through all that trouble just for other people’s entertainment he should be proud

Halibut are no joke.
Husband's grandfather/uncles caught a halibut once and while they were hauling it onshore, it's tail got the downrigger weights tangled around it. So this fish is pissed and thrashing about, those weights turned into a 5lb medieval flail. Nearly broke one uncle's leg, nearly smashed a hole in the boat.  They managed to stab it in the collar, bash it over the head a few times and then ran like hell out of range just to keep from being bludgeoned to death themselves. No idea how big it was, likely not a noteworthy size but still big enough to kill them.
Another one grandfather caught was a record breaking fish for the cove he used to fish at. The halibut was more than 6foot long and weighed at least 220lbs.  I've seen the picture, massive beast. He held that record for more than 20 years.

Brave man, Bass lipping a 100 LB Halibut

I was in Alaska fishing off a smaller island by Ketchikan, one of the locals took us out to fish for halibut, and my uncle caught one over 6ft. When we got it back to the docks, my dad and uncle had me lay down next to it(I was 13 at the time). It was bizarre to see a fish that big. I didn't realize that it was rare to see one that big at the time, but now I have that picture to show off:)

I used to commercial fish for Halibut.  Believe it or not,  that is not that big for a Halibut.  I think the biggest one ever caught with a pole was right over 400 lbs. I can't imagine that epic battle but, I've seen the pictures.
Just working with them to get them cleaned is an epic workout.
I miss having fresh Halibut on my dinner table. There is nothing quite like pulling fish out of the ocean, immediately cleaning them, and putting them on to cook. Delicious!

Gordon Ramsay would faint if this was thrown in his cutting board

I love how that reel changes from gold to blue in some of the scenes.

I am so glad that he is single or we wouldn't see his shows.  Go Jeremy!

He probably had a better hit on the golden real but it wasn’t as big as the second so they made it seem like that smaller one (bigger hit) was like the bigger fish. Just makes it more exciting for viewers.

That halibut is massive alright!! One could start a fish and chips business on that one fish!!!😲😲😊😊
