"owned ever second" - he certainly did! Good job he's such an expert at elongating words and wrapping his voice around every syllable otherwise he'd have been on-screen even less! lol
I wanted to see the scene from the Potter movie! Why did they cut it out??? My alltime favorite part he's ever played. It's timeless, and will be immortal. He just gave it so much of himself! It's just so emotional and dear! His building of Snape's image. Genius! And so SEXY!
He's such a cool person. "Encourage as in fill with courage!" That's who he is! I just love him! "Fill yourself out as a person. Travel." The coolest ppl I ever meet have done this over a lifetime and they are fascinating!
In my point of view, what really is interesting about Alan RIckman is, for a lack of a better term, his intellect. By that, I mean both, the emotionnal and factual knowledge of himself and his perception of the World. Of course, during an Interview, he is forced to remain as "brief" as possible, but I definitely hear what is being left silent. Still, I know nothing about the man except from the Interviews and texts I've read about him, so basically, my mind is building up a whole "scenario" about a human being I don't actually know. And yet, I have to rely on my "feelings" or "intuition" with a mix of "filtered" information gathered here and there. Interesting.
Indeed this man is a master of the acting profession. I could listen to him read the phone book.Very classy and sexy at the same time. I would love to sit at his feet and just listen to him talk about whatever he wanted to. I am in a hat tipping mood to him and Alan I hope you read this one day. Keep doing what you do. Snape made me want to wear a Tee that says..."ALWAYS" :)
This makes me really upset that I don't live in England like he does. I'd love to be in a play w/ him as my director. He's got so much warm insight & intellect to share. He's a sweet, tenderhearted person, which is so much a reflection of who I am as well. I think we'd get along really well. I hope someday to sit at the side of this master & learn all he knows.
Theresa Rebeck (writer of "Seminar") mentioned about receiving these wonderful emails from Alan in an interview. I think a fan mentioned seeing him use an iPhone one time then another time, someone saw him coming out of an Apple Store with their bag. So I don't think he's as computer illiterate as some may think. I guess friends/family show him amusing stuff on YouTube like Potter Puppet Pals but he avoids fan videos of himself (which is probably a good thing lol).
The interview made every question so dry and his fake laugh made me feel awkward but I can’t fault Alan in any ways he is a pure legend and will be missed.
That's a bummer. I couldn't agree more on the limited screen time he had on those movies. He sure owned every second of time he got, though. Now, if we could just get them to lengthen the time we get to see him act when he gets such outstanding roles.
I had to edit it out because everytime I uploaded the whole interview there was a message saying YouTube had to block the video worldwide due to Warner Bros. copyright. I'm forever grateful for the Harry Potter movies for introducing this man to me but I've never been keen on the writing and the limited screentime they gave him. However, it just proved what a brilliant talent he is for elevating above that and making his portrayal such a memorable one thus earning huge respect & love worldwide.
I agree with previous comments about the interviewer not being my favorite…I think that the English/Irish/Australian/etc interviewers who interviewed Alan for "A Little Chaos' were much better. But, I would be an utter mess if I were to have to interview Alan Rickman, much less being in the same room with him, so in that regard, cheers to this guy.
