The upstate of South Carolina is NOT the "Lowcountry" I can't stop laughing here in Charleston :)

And the First Nation's people walked and died on The Trail of Tears!

I've discovered over the years here in SC that the indians where more active with gold than what's documented and they had very odd ways of hiding it

First gold rush was in North Carolina 😮

The major active gold mine in the Carolinas — the Haile Gold Mine in South Carolina — is owned by OceanaGold Corporation, an international mining company headquartered in Australia.

I know Don,  great guy! I live about 5 minutes from his distillery,  Purple Jesus is one of my favorites.

I would love to do this kinda stuff.

2:54 Oh man I would buy that piece!

Dave you should do a show on the gold rush at Goldfield Nevada. They had some of the richest ore in the world. $70,000 dollars a ton at $20.67 an ounce.

We lived in Greer for 2 years. I miss it so much.

Our backyard sat on a quartz vein. I'm a lifelong rockhound and our kids and I spent a good majority of nearly every day out there digging stuff up easily. I've got great big chunks of some really beautiful quartz, a couple suspected raw rubies, an amethyst, and my favorite, my citrine. I found a piece of it about the size of a good strawberry, it's a beautiful shade of yellow! I want to have it faceted and set into a new wedding band, maybe with a couple peridot around it.

Those were some wonderful days, I love SC upstate and I miss it very much.

Wow is that six star ruby look like those sapphires
Worth alot .

I've been prospecting for some time now I need to go to north Carolina

I got a spot just south of Charlotte where I get color in the pan most times I go out.

I know a place in NC that has quarts gold... ive actually panned a few flakes as a kid...

I drove up to the Haile Gold mine from Charleston and did some panning from and creek that runs through it. Didn’t really get anything though.

I own around 100 acres in York SC, on the state border with Charlotte NC. I've got a natural spring in the property, have found lots of quartz and never found gold. I'd definitely like to see how to look for some of these rare "gems" around the property.

Does anybody know where hes at about?? York county.??

Man that's nice. That's all I need some good hunts like that.

Your are right about the wright brothers from ohio but the first flight was in the Carolina's if you look it up
