Thank you Aaron for an excellent lesson on setting up the RØDECaster Video. I've just ordered one and feel ready to dive straight in to configuring my livestreaming setup. And thanks to Lily for letting her channel be used for the demo. I must check it out too, though I'm not a fan of donuts or cats, her livestream looks very professional.

Awesome Video! Thanks a million

Awesome & Thanks :)

Thank you!

Thanks Aaron! As a teacher, I would love to see a way to connect my ipad to this so that I can use apple pencil to write on the screen. That would be my dream

Great video, Aaron. And I totally agree when it comes to video/scenes and audio sources. Using Wireless Pro mics with it,  that option would be very useful, for example in an interview. Probably most useful to able to set it up with scenes. Using one or two Wireless Pro mics with a specific scene.

Huwowww Rodecaster video

is there any delay/lag or resolution difference with using the Cam Link?

Do i need an audio interface to connect Rode Mic Condenser NT 1

Great video Aaron.. also it seems like many of your suggestions got added in the latest Summer 2025 firmware update so thanks for working with Rode so closely..
Questions: have you had any overheating issues since the latest firmware update???
Also I had my first ever live stream last night with my new Rodecaster video and had some audio crackling  issues on YouTube and I had to reboot the RodeCaster Video “while  I was live” on YouTube to fix it.. Has that ever happened to Lilly’s streams or when you have streamer from it?  When I was live I was using almost every input and feature.. I had my NDI stream from my iPhone go very contrasty why I was live as well it was fine when I setting up and testing. It was almost like ISO recording/Streaming/NDI/ Web Cam/ 4 HDMI inputs/ two HDMI outputs and everything else was causing my device to fall apart. It got hot as well. Any thoughts?

quick sumup 34:00

Hi quick question, do you know if I can use it with Meld Studio or OBS? And could you explain how or maybe a video, thank you

Oh! Nice, Thanks for the video.
This Switcher definitely took care of most of my Audio issues.
Does it Stream to multiple Platforms like OseeGo stream, that stream to 3 platform simultaneously?

I really want this but on my workflow I use logo, lower 3rds and tickers.. any ideas on how to do that knowing that it only allows one graphic at a time? Thanks!

Hey there. I'm sure you know you can now mute sources on scenes. If you've done another video for that, you might want to link to the update just so people know. Or not... 😉

Great video
By any chance would this work with the yolobox ultra?

"... step by step, and I'll show you everything along the way.
"So this is now restored to its default state. All I've done so far is plug in video and audio inputs and outputs. ..."

Yeah, except there are some limitations that may affect your users:
1. You use an XLR mic, but users may think they can put anything into the USB-C inputs
It's not well-advertised, but the USB-C ports 4 and 5 can take microphones but only Rode ones.
I ended up buying a a Rode NT-USB Mini last night after working on my Hyper-X microphone for a day.
2. Not all devices can go into the USB-C ports
I have not gotten my Sony ZV-1F to be connected with streaming on. Same configuration works in OBS but not when plugged into RCV.
I thought I was going to do technical videos with hand-drawn input on my reMarkable through the USB-C. I still have not got this to work.

At a minimum, there is some unexpected jiggery-pokery necessary for the USB-C ports. I've also had to replace hardware.

6:50 You can also drag your file from the left, and drop it on top of the BG field to have it populate it.

Lack of downstream key quite a big deal.

Aaron, thnx, great overview / introduction! Because she doesn‘t seem to need a wireless cam (AKA iPad / iPhone), she could dump the AppleTV and connect the iPad via HDMI-Adapter, right?
