We break down each weapon’s strengths, weaknesses, lore, combat use, and which one would actually give you the best chance of making it out alive when stormtroopers come crashing through the door.

They neglected to mention the BlasTech DL-44 Heavy Blaster Pistol. Known for its high power and accuracy in close-quarters combat, the DL-44 was favored by smugglers including Han Solo.

"The ability to fire both yellow and blue bolts" is not a setting or a mode or even an ability. The color of the bolt depends on which type and purity of blaster gas is being used.

The Bryar Pistol was good enough for Kyle Katarn, and he knew a thing or two about shooting things.

Not mentioned in the video:

DC-15s. If it's enough for a guy called "Boss" it's enough for me.

A180 is the best thing to come out of Disney star wars

Westar-35 for me. Higher capacity per power pack and customizable to your systems. Nice to be able to know when you need to switch power packs and it not be a surprise.

I will die on the hill (just like jango) that Westar-34 is the sickest blaster in star wars history.

My pick is not on the wall. :( "The Smugglers Sidearm", the "Desert Eagle in space", the Blas-Tech DL-44.
(Yes btw, I know it's based on a Mauser "broomhandle", Desert Eagle In Space is a play on it's power output)

I'll take a good old fashioned DC-17, standard sidearm of the clone army during the Clone War

I am disappointed that the legendary "Bryar Pistol" was not mentioned at all.
Personal weapon of even more legendary Kyle Katarn, who is a canonically confirmed character, as he briefly appeared in the sequel trilogy.
This heavy blaster pistol had a real kick and accompanied us through many games.

DL-18 Blaster Pistol mixed with a slug gun (star wars gun that shot metal bullets) would be badass.

If a force user is approaching, you shoot with DL-18 while timing the slug gun.

Jocasta Nu, the Chief Librarian, had a rifle that used a lightsaber for a weapon in the comics so technically, she and other jedi had access to ligthsaber blasters for an unknown amount of time.

Off of this list I'd choose the Westar-35 or the A180. Overall, I'd probably go with either the DC-17 Repeater or the S-5 Security-grade blaster. I like the functionality of being able to use it as a grappling hook launcher. Just the thing to keep you from getting pinned down.

The problem with the modular weapons is you still have to haul that stuff along with you. And if it overheats or runs out of ammo you don't have sidearm to switch to. It's perfect for covert missions like Cassian going after Dedre Meero, where he carried around a travelling suitcase as an excuse to carry the additional mods, and can take the time modify his weapon. But in the same set of episodes he gets jump by Syril and disarmed and no longer had a sidearm to defend himself with.

Out of these, I'd take the A-180. I like having options. Otherwise, the DC-17 would do just fine. It's durable and common enough to get parts when needed.

Always loved the sound of Mandalorain pistols (Westar-35). Now I know their name as well. xD Would pick them any time. Also the A-180 as a backup for variety.

100% one of the EC-17 compact blasters the speeder bike troopers carried in ROTJ. Concealability is super important.

u had me at the A-180 blaster. I refuse to bring anything else.

@albytheking125 4 months ago

If i had to choose of the list, i would choose the LW896. If i could pick on off the list, it would be the cr2 with a stable stock and hair trigger.

The modularity of the A-180 reminds me of the DC-17m from Republic Commando. One gun with several configurations. The DC-17m had blaster rifle, sniper, and Anti armor/grenade launcher.
