Also. Another cheap lining is using a table cloth that has vinyl on one side and flannel on the back. BTW....I love your attitude about it. I have the same attitude and I've been sewing for over 45 years. I had 2 wonderful sewing "teachers"..... my mother in law and later an elderly friend. I am now starting to teach my 9 year old granddaughter. Last year she made a small quilt for herself. I gave her a sewing machine for Christmas last year cause she asked for one. Even her 6 year old brother wanted to sew so I helped him make a mug rug. He was so proud of himself. Thanks for telling new sewers not to stress....that is what discourages them and takes the joy out of sewing. ❤

You are a very specific and detailed tutor/teacher/instructor. Your style is both enjoyable and relaxing. After reading some of your viewers comments I have to wonder if they are actually paying attention??

You left nothing out…the walking foot attachment was mentioned more than once and I have no doubt that your daughter’s safety is your number one priority as you teach her how to sew. Love your tutorials!! Looking forward to more projects.

Mom sewed for herself and us 4 girls. She never taught us but we now sew for ourselves and for our kids. We just picked it up. I am a purse and tote bag freak...I never had success making them. You have cleared my fears and encouraged me to iron my stored fabrics again. Bravo maestro.

Chelsea I look forward to watching you sew. I am 83 years old and you make me wish I knew you when I was younger. By that I mean I still sew. But don’t have as longer span as I used too. Thank you. Your the best in my opinion.

I love that you did this with simple tools. Not everyone has a walking foot and you did stress that using one be preferred but wanted to show it could be done without. Thank you for thinking of those small things for people like me 😃 I love your tutorials. You are a ray of sunshine

I wish that my sewing home ec teacher had been half as good as you are at teaching. I've wanted to sew for years, bought a machine, saved fabric, but never did much more than straight stitches for literally 35 years! Now I'm all in because of you. ❤

When I was teaching my Granddaughter to sew I made her a little sign to keep near the sewing machine that said Be the boss of the fabric!

As a child my siblings and I spent a lot of our summers at our grandparents farm. As the only fair skinned redhead, I was limited on the amount of time I was allowed outside. My grandmother taught me to sew on her treadle sewing machine and quilt the quilt tops we made on the frames hanging from the ceiling in a back bedroom. She made sure to encourage my love of reading, taught me to crochet and cook. I will never forget the wonderful times we had together. I'm 67 and I've taught 2 of me granddaughters to sew.
