Alternative title: Thomas the Crank Engine and Friends

Newt’s death in the book hits SO much harder.
I can still quote the page (the dreaded page 250) when the last time I read it was like 2017! That’s how much it hit hard
And when I really think of it, the book was just so much better in general. The movie changed a lot of things for the worse

Like excuse me, “ ‘Kill me! Please Tommy, Please.’ And with his heart falling into a black abyss, Thomas pulled the trigger” THATS A BETTER LOVE STORY  THAN TWILIGHT

Dylan O'brien can stare at whatever he wants for however long he wishes to

The fact that Thomas was so hung up on Teresa when Brenda was RIGHT THERE will never not make me upset.

The literal coolest part of book 3, is that they go back into the maze to save everybody! But they changed the story SO MUCH!

I will never forgive them for killing Newt and then finding the cure (that they should have already found as at the start of the Scorch Trials they took blood samples) not even 15 seconds later

There was more romantic tension between Thomas and Newt than there was between Thomas and Teresa, due to Dylan O'Brien and Thomas Brodie Sangster's strong onscreen chemistry.

Gally being alive made sense in the books cause there he wasn’t shot, after he (threw a knife mind you) at Chuck, Thomas beat the shit out of Gally and he was just taken away

Newt's death still makes me sob buckets. Thomas Brodie Sangster was the best actor in the franchise, in my opinion, and was better than the writing deserved, at times.

Why did she sacrifice herself at the end? She didn't need to. She was just like "I don't want to live with all you nerds anyway. See ya." And thats it.

One thing about the movie that just always leaves me in awe is Will Poulter’s insane glow up.

Saw someone else comment this but please, Alex, consider watching “Nanny McPhee”. It’s like a fun, modern-ish Mary Poppins!

As someone who was actually a huge fan of the book and thought the first movie was pretty good, I will forever be frustrated for how they ruined this movie franchise (but at least they got to finish it, I guess?)

5:32 This guy is in a constant state of “🤨”

Honestly speaking to me after the first movie the title of the movie became irrelevant, since you know they are no longer in the maze

The one thing that bothered me in the movies is that they got worse for each book. The first movie was the closest to the book as we got. The next two was as if the producers got lazy and decided to take the title of the book and the characters from it and make their own movie with them. They totally disregarded the books when making that last two books. I would recommend reading the books, they are way better than the movies.

4:21 One thing I liked, or I guess respected about the first movie was that they revealed the big bad villains death as fake within the same movie and didn't try and make it a clever second movie plot twist or whatever. And then of course the third movie spat all over that and resurrected the one character who should've stayed gone... It makes me wonder if the people who make movies even read the reviews before plowing ahead with their sequels? 😅😂

Man I wish they stayed more accurate to the books. I only managed to watch up until the part of the second movie where they first met the cranks and I realised they turned them into generic zombies

Excuse you, 11 year old me (and current me) thought that it was peak cinema (I’m still not over Newt’s death 😭😭)

the books are SO GOOD but then they were like... hey what if we turn these into movies but stab a bunch of holes in the plot, then throw it into a shredder and stick it back together with dramatic pause. The book had very few plot holes and everything was smooth and amazing.
