Yes it was very helpful !  Thanks for taking time to explaining the cooling system.  I'm going to add vents for air flow on my electric fan system.  Great idea !

Timing is the most important next to the carb for maintaining proper temp.

Good tips. I eventually hooked up my vacuum advance to a manifold vacuum and the engine finally cooled off.

Great tips for us old school Poncho guys to keep our cars as cool as we can!

I just bought a 69’ Bonneville it had overheating issues but runs and drives so I’m gonna start with the water pump  and carb first once I get it home! Thank you for the information

A lot of good tips, THX!

if your rebuilding hardblock to the lower casting/freeze plugs n move more water thru the jacket where its hot, top of the stroke.

Of all the cars I ever owned, the Pontiac ran the hottest.  It seems like it was always on the verge of overheating.  Even when it was new.

Never knew Pontiac's had more trouble with overheating than some of the other brands. I certainly didn't know about the divider plate spacing for the water pump tip. Great Video Terry!!

Detonator eight...🎉❤

I have a butler 511 with the original cooling system on a 73 grand am. I can  run the air on a 100 degrees day and it never gets over 180. I also own an S10 with a 455sd with the stock 4.3 cooling system and it runs 180. It's a stock engine.

I have a 1972 Grand Prix still running on the stock, original, unrebuilt 455 with 133K. I have done the water pump divider plate trick with the, long-vane, cast impeller. I have a full undamaged fan shroud. I have a full sized fan with a good working clutch. I have even added a full width air dam under the radiator support. I do have a good working A/C system still running R12. It never overheats in stop and go traffic. I wants to run 210F on the highway. Your thoughts? Timing? Or is a radiator my solution?

Hey, thank you for the video. I’m trying to incorporate as much of this as possible. My stock 455 had major overheating issues. I’m rebuilding and added a stroker kit. What are your thoughts on my current cooling mods? https://youtu.be/xXPCH4pAl2w?is=yWc13oid4Q5ej9bd
