My favorite part of this ARG is the competence d3rlord3 displays. It really makes this story feel like a regular minecraft player fighting against unfathomable entities on an even playing ground.

This man is NOT "a dumbass". REMEMBER, he was COMPELLED to move forward. Yes, he was curious, but still being influenced by whatever cosmic horror force was in there.

Probably the reason WIFIES mentioning the google drive link length so casually is because he’s a harvard graduate.
Yeah, a HARVARD GRADUATE making Minecraft videos.

"I pray God will curse the writer, as the writer has cursed the world with its beautiful stupendous creation, terrible in its simplicity, irresistible in its truth--a world which now trembles before the King In Yellow"

D3rlord3 is basically tanking gojo's infinite void 2 times, because he had to censor the king in yellow so we wouldn't get affected by it.

Id like to point out that it doesn’t matter what path that D3rlord3 took his story is entirely different from Avery’s. D3rlord3 somehow knows Avery’s future and is trying to warn him that at a certain point Avery will come to a crossroads and if he chooses to turn left he’ll meet an unfortunate fate.

on the lake part, D3rlord3 placed 3 traps actually, The hopper, the grass block...and the fact the game didn't pause when he opened menu cause the boat kept moving forward- You see, this only happens when you're no longer in SINGLEplayer

This is one of the best adaptations for the king in yellow and so thought out cuz  even d3rlord(DER lord= the lord) means the king and 3 is the yellows index in the rainbow so d3rlords nickname is a hint that the entity is the king in yellow which is the reason he knew Avery would find the book.

your vtuber model with the glasses and jacket on is really giving vash the stampede

So as some pointed out already this was made in reference to a book called A King in Yellow which is something that inspired H.P. Lovecraft to double down on the cosmic horror and create the Cthulhu mythos.

@23:32
It doesn't necessarily affect the entitiy in any way. You can still take damage from falling or the tnt traps in desert temples. Turning the difficulty to peaceful just stops all hostile mobs from spawning.

Did nobody notice how bro went bald for a moment there 7:55 🤣🤣🤣🤣☠️☠️☠️🤣🤣🤣

Gonna be real the OG video is such a masterclass in atmosphere and setting up legit Terror involving the sensation of feeling like you're not alone/being watched that my Thirty-six year old ass was "compelled" to make sure all my house doors were locked and that my bedroom closet was both empty and shut.

So cipher stacking is a bad practice if the person you're trying to deliver the message to doesn't know which ciphers are being used, and have a key to solve it. Basically it becomes a guessing game. They have to guess which cipher is being used. It's actually a great practice if you want to limit who can read it to only certain people, who know the key beforehand.

23:21 just because its peaceful doesnt mean war crimes or murder cant happen

If anyone wants to know what the cipher says, it’s a line from the poem: “Do not go gentle into that good night.” It’s by Dylan Thomas.

0:25 That is NOT.... An anime BOY... THAT IS A MAN

Btw this was inspired by a book called the yellow king

This was my second time seeing this, and I finally got that it was a take on The King in Yellow mythos. 🤦. Also, nice model Evan 😀
