ngl ur YT is rlly underrated, always fun to watch

fun fact the reason planet fitness is adding more weight equipment is because its super in vogue right now with the younger generation getting into weightlifting.

Been loving the hack squat and chest press. Glad they’re finally leaning towards more machines. They just need to cut out half of the cardio machines.

A new planet fitness opened by me and it received ALL the new machines plus more. We have 3 power racks, 2 deadlift platforms, 2(!) different plated hack squat machines, the Plated bench machines, 3 types of plated pull machines (front pulldown, lat pulldown, and horizontal row), plated shoulder press machine, plated belt squat, plated hip thrust, plated split squat machine, plated assisted Nordic curl machine (random but OK), a standing calf machine, and a preacher curl base with plated EZ-bars. Not to mention all the benches are heavy duty hammer strength with adjustable backs and seats. I have been blessed. 🙏

I don't think I'll ever touch the power racks and deadlift platforms but I'm glad they're there for those who want them!

Wish my PF was that empty 😂😂

as far as the calf raise, a seated one is my preferred one due to back injury, so its nice to have both options.

u should've covered the new matrix preacher curl since the resistance profile is different. I think it goes from S tier to C tier for biceps

Tnf you knew I was about to eat my post workout meal? that’s why posted thank u

If ur planet fitness has foam roallers available, use them on the hack squat to give you more range of motion. Make sure to place it around your neck area but make sure the foam roller isn't placed on the back pad of the machine or else it will cause friction with the machine and the foam roller gets kinda destroyed. Or of course like others mentioned, you can use yoga blocks. But I prefer the foam roller cause for me personally it gives me a much deeper ROM.

The press machine has been a favorite of mine since mine got it last year. as someone who consider themselves novice it gave me opportunities to lift heavy weight by myself without fear of an accident in tandem with forcing you into good form with the path of movement of the machine arms themselves. EDIT (I'm also 5ft7)

Thanks for mentioning the taller lifter.
Most don’t take that into consideration at all.
🙌🙌

Love the videos unc❤

When using the matrix hack squat, use 2 yoga blocks in the shoulder pads, make sure they don’t extend over the original pads cause they will come in contact with the stoppers and wear. Also that will make it much more friendly to your shoulders

One of the things that I do on the hack squat when it's too short of a range of motion is I'll put foam yoga pads between my shoulders and the pads and it gives me an extra 3 inches and that is sometimes a lot lol

Good tour …
I wish you try hammer strength hack squat next time and give us your opinion.

i luv ur vids tnf

Definitely agree most people should focus on straight leg calf raises for the majority of their calf work!

But the seated calf raise still has a place. The soleus is very slow-twitch muscle fiber dominant so it can often handle a bit more work and growing it will still make your calf look bigger as it sits underneath the gastroc and can push it out more.

So once you've exhausted your gastroc from straight-leg calf exercises (and leg curls since the gastroc is involved in knee flexion too), adding in just a bit of seated calf work can be good to really maximize overall calf growth.

Plus, it's great for improving ankle mobility! Better ankle mobility can help in squats and getting more stretch on the quads so long-term may indirectly improve quad growth as well.

For the hack I would suggest using yoga blocks under the shoulder padding for more depth
