The plastic allen keys in the action base 8 say in the instructions that you're SUPPOSED to turn them until they deform, to make sure the screws are tight enough to hold an MG. Like a torque wrench.

I'll cover all my bases by watching this video!

Action base 4 basically comes with 3 full action bases though. You can split the arm up into 2 separate stands, and it still comes with the thin arm for a ground pose for the 3rd base. Much better than action base 5 imo. Especially since they're the same price in most stores.

I've got so many poses that only work with action bases but I keep forgetting to buy them

Watch this video kids before buying any action bases...or you will be end up like me who accidently bought a lot of action base fives without reading the package while also mostly collecting 1/100 Gunpla,the stand of my MG Providence Gundam broke the other day...he just stands in the shelf like a tool now...

You can also use the action base 4 as 3 separate stands for your lighter builds

I know the AB7 is more brittle, but the bank function is so good for my Macross HG kits I bought a dozen of them to display and I genuinely can't say I regret any of it

The AB4 and 5 actually has parts to make TWO half-length stands, so you can use one AB4/5 to display two kits, instead of just one.

For small things, like gunbits, don't forget the tokasatsu technique of hanging things by fishing wire. ;)

@seanklingle139 11 months ago

One thing I can add to it is the fact that the Action Base 7 is exceptional for putting the Macross planes in flight mode into angle poses to make them more dynamic better than the other bases

The main issue that I had with the Witch From Mercury stand is that you would need to buy 2 of them to display all the bits of the Aerial or the Aerial Rebuild. There's not enough stands for everything if you buy just one.

Id like to see more diorama bases like the 30mm city base. That thing was pretty cool and with enough of them, you can make a to scale city

Never in my life did I think someone could make a 40 minute video on action bases, yet here I am. Enjoying every second. You may have 500k subs but you deserve so many more

Me who use AB6 for flying poses cause it's held with faith and prayers as well: 🗿

My son just builds display bases from spare runner parts. He has one he put together that holds the rx78 pgu with no issue.

It’s worth noting the Rg Zeong comes with the action base 4 in box and some extra bits

@A_khan13 11 months ago

This was exactly my situation at the start. And while I now know what bases generally works for me, it always bugged me how I still never knew about all the different action bases in detail and no one really talks about them in detail either... so really appreciate this video!
