Required listening for all metalheads 🤘

The entire 'Reign in Blood' album should be enjoyed in it's entirety. 10 tunes 28 min.

A story about a guy being kicked out of heaven who takes revenge by slaughtering all the angels (the chaos you hear at the end). Their blood pouring down from the sky. They also performed this live with fake blood raining down on them and their instruments.

You don't have any way of knowing this but Postmortem and Raining Blood bleed into one another and it's best to listen to them as one song.

I'm not surprised you recognized the riff, because if you've ever been to a metal show/festival than you soon learn that this is the default intermission music.

I remember the old saying "If Hell had a house band, it would be Slayer"🤘

Reign in Blood is one of Metal's masterworks.

South of Heaven is the most reasonable next stop. Let's not be silly!
Even catchier riffage in that one.

Slayer was and still remains highly influential in the metalverse. Several subgenres attribute themselves to the earlier works of Slayer. Not just within Thrash but also Black Metal and Death Metal.

The first song I ever heard from them was the first song of this album.. Angel of Death.. back in 1987. It was the most brutal sounding music I had ever heard. The entire cassette was perfect for my half-hour long lunch break at work so I listened to it in my car while eating my lunch.

Grew to love the album very quickly.

I was lucky enough to have seen Slayer live three times!

The first time, I was just 16 years old and was actually terrified to go into the mosh pit because people were going completely crazy. During the first song, a woman dragged her blood-soaked, but still headbanging, boyfriend towards the toilet.

And the third concert was at a festival and was by far the loudest thing I've ever heard! You could feel every kick drum in your chest – pure adrenaline!

Reign in Blood: 10 songs, 29 minutes, relentless perfection.

Been a diehard SLAYER fan since I was twelve in '84. There will NEVER be another.

what i love most (apart from the speed) is the way the dual guitars play off each other, one does a part then the other takes off

Lombardo is a unique drummer. He really lets loose on this album

It’s a song of revenge. Raining Blood is the final movement of the Reign In Blood suite. Just as with Dark Side Of The Moon, listen to the entire album in one sitting. It’s just 30 minutes long.

Jeff Hanneman is the lyricist. He was consumed by dark thoughts.
