In the nineteenth episode, Archpriest Vladimir Popov, rector of the St. Nicholas Church in Lyubatovo, tells his story.

Father Vladimir was born on March 30, 1940, in the village of Vershina Darasuna in the Chita Region, into the family of a career officer. He spent his childhood constantly moving with his parents around Transbaikalia, the Far East, and the Kuril Islands.

In 1960, Vladimir Popov met the priest of the Tomsk Holy Trinity Cathedral, Archpriest Konstantin Shakhovsky, who spent 10 years in Stalin's camps and was a deeply religious person. This acquaintance had a great influence on the future life of the future pastor.

On September 21, 1973, Vladimir Popov was ordained a deacon by Metropolitan John (Razumov) of Pskov and Porkhov in the Mikhail-Arkhangelsk Church of the Pskov-Pechersky Monastery, and on September 27 of the same year, he was ordained a priest.

In November 1973, Priest Vladimir was appointed rector of the Nikolskaya Lyubyatovskaya Church in Pskov. At that time, Fr. Vladimir's spiritual mentors were Archimandrite Afinogen (in schema Agapius) and Archimandrite John (Krestyankin), elders of the Pskov-Pechersky Monastery.
