The Hop Farm used to be a well kept and welcoming place which showed the history of the Kentish hops and beer making. It was a working hop farm, my great grandparents worked there back in the 30s/40s. The ‘weird buildings’ are Oast Houses, used for drying hops. It was sold about 10 years ago and has never been the same.

The hop farm and hop museum used to be amazing 25 years ago. It used to be such a good family day out. It breaks my heart to see it in such a state.

Back int he day when my mum was a child she used to go hop picking there it was a kind of working holiday for the people of London

Great video Ben, good to see the Sabbath t-shirt making an appearance. 👍

Yet another brilliant upload. I do look forward to your videos as you crack me up. What a great character 👍🍺

Hi Ben , Great Review as Always 👍 Being in the Garden of England , Now We Know why Everything grows so well 😂 Keep  Living the Dream ..... Cheers Buddy 🍺🍺

Hi Ben great Vlog mate the Hop Farm used to be a great attraction it was owned by Whitbred brewery and had all the shire horses that pulled the dray carts in London delivering beer to pubs such a shame to see it in such a state used to have alot of concerts there too

Hi Ben. Its such a shame its ended up like this. I went there 10 years ago it was brilliant. There were big events on there all summer. Great video 👍

Love your videos, Ben. i use them for research purposes. Im a campsite warden 😂 so they help me see how we can improve our little site. Keep up the great work 👍

You’re in Kent Ben, that’s where the hopes are grown and the funny looking buildings are where the hops go and to have whatever they do to them for the beer.  Years ago Londoners would go to Kent to pick the hops with the whole family and that was their holiday.  That place is ok for an overnight stay, otherwise it would be a big no from me after watching your video. Take care 🤗

Great review again. Nobody messes with bongo Ben  x

Welcome to Kent.
The Hop Farm is an event location, it brings out the festival campers, it's famous for WW2 re-enactment groups etc.
It's close enough for the festival campers to get to from London.
If bad campers made a mess the campsite should have cleaned it.
If the toilets aren't being cleaned properly who is managing the site.

For a different kind of campsite go to little Switzerland near Folkestone, the view over the Channel from the cafe area is amazing!

Cheers Ben really enjoyed the video  Oast houses for drying the hops.  It was a big music venue Bob Dylan played there. Great footage of the Kent sky.

I love the ambiance of dusk . Beautiful sunset

How sad, went there years ago was great, thanks for taking us along Ben,cheers

What a huge campsite but with the lack of facilities it's like paid for wild camping. Looking forward to this road trip as I know you are back home now like me waiting for the kids to go back to school.

The clue is in the name, The Hop Farm, it used to be Whitbread's hop farm , where the hops were grown and dried in the Oast houses. The area has been used for many events since the demise of the hop trade. You get what you pay for but no excuse for dirty facilities, can understand the au naturel with the toilet blocks not being centrally located on each camping area. Sad to see it in this state. Fishing might be free, but you still need a rod licence. Good fair report.

Get a mozzy net with Velcro fixing and you can keep your door open
