I LOVE THE WEREWOLF!

The monster jumping through the window and ending on a freeze frame was a great place to cut to commercial, although, for some reason, I conflate it with The Spanish Moss Murders.

I remember this back in the day. Watched with my grandmother 🤘🏻 Stay away from that turkey it's not done it'll give you worms 😂

Chris Carter the man behind The X-Files quoted this was his inspiration for The X-Files I read.:)

The Sentry could’ve been so much better than it turned out to be. The biggest flaw of this episode is obviously the horrendous lizard suit. There were moments of greatness though. For example the scene where the guy is working in the long empty corridor and the creature starts smashing the lights as it gets closer and closer. Quick cuts and dark shadows concealing the monster are really effective in this scene. If only they did the rest of the episode like this. I still like the episode though.

Have the series on DVD.

The Doppelganger is my favorite episode. That scene in the pinball arcade scared the heck out of me when it first came out.

Love the Kolchak cheesiness.

I kind of low-key love The Werewolf. Sure, the bad crepe-hair and spirit gum wolfman is embarrassing, but I love the fact that Karl is stuck having to work with a randy boozehound and an exceptionally kooky tourist and his hypothesis of a supernatural monster running around is accepted by them like it's just another Tuesday night they help to resolve. Plus I kind of would have liked to seen Paula show up to help Karl again as her cloudcuckoolander personality was a great contrast to Karl's cynicism.

Trevi , Bad Medicine, The Werewolf, weren't that bad. The Sentry is one of my sentimental favorites from my childhood😉

I enjoyed your commentary on these Kolchak episodes. This show terrified me back in the early 70s!

I like The Trevi Collection more than you do, especially Lara Parker as the diabolical Madelaine. I remember being terrified of her evil and madness. Thank you for your channel!

The Werewolf is such a fun episode and one of my favourites in fact.

Obviously some episodes were better than others. I was a fan of "Kolchak" since the first two movies then the premiere of the series in Sept. 1974 from the beginning to the end. I watched each week, and the series was interrupted for a few weeks before it was renamed "Kolchak: The Night Stalker." Originally it was just "The Night Stalker" which originally referred to Janos Skorzeny, the vampire from the first movie. The show never scared me. The reason we tuned in was to see how Carl Kolchak would react to the monsters from week to week. Loved this show from the beginning and the rebooted series in 2005 was just not any good.

my favorite three Kolchak episodes are
3 The Energy Eater
2 The Horror in the Heights
1 The Zombie
here's hoping that they end up close to the top of your 'best' list as well

Film on the Queen Mary.

Of course we don't feel any real threat in The Werewolf episode! Because it is Kolchak! It is just fun and his character is what it is all about. Anything mystery or horror in the 70s set on a cruise ship was always enjoyable and the side characters only adds to it all.

Rubbish..Fire Fall is one of the best episode because not only does Kolchak see the menace but its targeted victim does as well  confirming both are in danger. Unlike other entries where its vanquished as shocked authorities discover or nothing left at all this episode stands out because a victim knows  its real. As they retreated into a Cathedral were it cannot enter those saying its not real see nothing but its there waiting for each leave by force. After they quit Kolchak knows both will perish and saves both of them and gets to sleep that would of doomed them to a fiery death from its supernatural arsonist.
The episode with the extraterrestrial was good as well which wasn't evil but Kolchak along with others were just in they way and a meal at times. Save for a shadow it was the only menace that everyone encountered especially the police knew was actually happening unlike other entries when it concluded instead. It was also the only the one of the few openings  where Kolchak related after it was all over the consequences of knowing what was true but doubted it after authorities detained him. Indeed as he wrapped up events before that happened at its end Kolchak said like any traveler they needed a repair, a bit to eat before moving on like any of us but off the earth instead.
Lastly, Primal Scream was one of the few were some supernatural cause was its trigger but what if our ancestor might be in the present who's more feral than human. This critter wasn't  after anything but its own survival without malice with those it came across as getting in the way or having what it needed. As Kolchak began to believe it wasn't some prime mate like in  the story Murders in the Rue Morgue where it was but far older. It was also the only time when authorities had caught the menace that didn't get free again and its fate remained in question unlike other episodes. Indeed the film Altered State had a similar plot where a scientist became such a creature for hours spreading chaos before becoming human once more in 1980..

I disagree about the Treve Collection and The Youth Killer. I thought They were both fun rides. The Werewolf was goofy but fun. Seriously, you're a werewolf and you're taking a cruise ship which will take days rather than just flying?
Completely agree on Demon in Lace and Legacy of Terror

Cool, thanks.
