Jim, thank you and I enjoyed your comments about Seattle golf and Broadmoor CC. My grandfather was a fairly well known PNW golfer, winning the Washington Open twice (1929 & 1931), the Western Open and many other tournaments in the PNW area, and he also competed in multiple US Opens. He was also the head professional at Broadmoor CC for a number of years before he moved to San Diego to be the first head pro at Torrey Pines from 1957 until his retirement in 1970. His name was Frank Rodia, and his golf swing was beautiful and very reminiscent of Bobby Jones' swing.

I am an older golfer, so I am biased. Why is it that we don’t teach the golf swing of the great swingers from older era’s, Sam S, Byron Nelson, Ben Hogan, Jack N., Gary Player, Tom Watson, etc, or even Bruce Lietzke. They hit the ball really far with old-persimmon clubs, irons, and balls?

Nice history, progression, lead up to modern techniques. Been spouting this for years but people don't understand and there's too much missinfo on YouTube.
