Second hand account, but from a very expirienced shooter and reloader; the report was with 6BRA alpha brass. I guess the primer pocket has a taper to the bottom of the pocket. His primers worked their way back out after seating them, on new brass. He stated that once ran a uniformer in the pocket, the issue went away and the brass has otherwise performed well.
Ive had this from primers being to deep and to shallow. Firing pin pushing the primer foward and not getting ignition. 7mm-08 is an excellent cartridge. Great content
These 7mm videos interest me so much because earlier on in the year I purchased an FO rifle in .284WIN and I will keep it as same but I am considering a 7Claymoor, 7-08. .280/AI for my 2 boys to use for an extended range rifle. When I had genuine problems, I have had debris jammed in fire pin hole and caught up in the fire pin spring, so I cleaned it all spotless then a light amount of oil on the spring so it was all moving freely.
What primers? I had this same issue when shooting my new Dasher build. Even swapped out to a heavy firing pin spring (HST/NSP A30 action). I’m convinced it was the batch of CCI BR-4 primers I was using. Worked fine with the CCI450, REM 7-1/2, CCI400 etc.
Its not your action! I had the exact same issues with my 25-260ai with virgin alpha brass! Its a somewhat common issue with virgin alpha brass. I had nothing but issues with my terminus apollo and cci 450’s. I switched to federal/campro as theyre softer and only had 2 fail. Its not your action. Please feel free to message me and i can give you more info from my experience.
