whoever had the idea to have their shadows on the pillar... absolute cinema!

That sword fight between Errol Flynn and Basil Rathbone was one of the most memorable ever filmed. The shadows on the wall were genius. All other swashbucklers will forever be compared to The Adventures of Robin Hood.

Almost 90 years old and STILL one of the greatest sword fights in cinema history!

Claude Rains elevates any movie: an under-appreciated actor.

As much as like the Disney animated film, this is still the best Robin Hood film ever made

Seeing this movie at the impressionable age of 5, with my now-deceased father, permanently cemented so many concepts into my consciousness: goodness, fairness, standing up for the downtrodden, fighting for freedom, respect for women, courage, resourcefulness, honor, integrity. Taught me more than any school. Literally this may be the best movie ever made.

Basil Rathbone aka Sherlock Holmes, what a great actor and gorgeous voice. But shout-out to the lad from Tasmania 🌏

One of my favorite movies. Errol is my Robin Hood.

Errol Flynn was a very good-looking man! But Basil Rathbone wearing a beard gives Flynn a run for his money, imho. Just thought I’d share a woman’s point of view. ❤🥰

It was shown at the end of this film that King Richard had Prince John, the Sheriff of Nottingham, the Bishop, and anyone else who proved themselves loyal to Prince John exiled from the kingdom for the remainder of King Richard's lifetime.
