Good to see you got some sponsorship, we all owe you something for promoting  Australia.
.

So glad to see the bonus video this week!  What a treat!!!

Unbound merino couldn’t have picked a better account for their ads! 🙌🏽🙌🏽

congratulation on the sponsors!

Darwin and NT tourism owe you two for this  - it’s really selling the place to me.

Definitely time to get my lazy ass out of Sydney and head up there.

Those American snack stores selling Doritos for $14 a pack that never have anyone in them? They’re fronts for money laundering 😂. That and illegal Tobacco/vapes.

They used to have a good museum where you can see stuff about WW2 and Cyclone Tracy.
Darwin had a lot more bombs dropped on it than Pearl Harbour over 60+ raids.

Do not rush into the Gibb River road, I would save it for another trip and start a month after the wet season finishes.

Not just bloggers but film makers❤

As you probably know Aussies are quite flippant when it comes to the dangerous stuff (animals, etc) but when it comes to the outback you can't FAFO!  Stay safe, don't take any risks as I am confident you won't because the outback has claimed too many tourists not taking the warnings seriously. Have an AWESOME time and show the rest of Australia that haven't been there, what they are missing out on. 😎

Back in '04 I drove the Gibb River Road in an elderly Nissan Patrol. But I did it at the end of August, not the beginning of October. It's a fun drive. The sights are spectacular. The Thunder Fig would eat it up. Two weeks ago I would have said you should do it. But with the Wet coming on? The closure of the roadhouses isn't going to be the big problem. The big problem is that the road might get closed. And if you get caught on the Gibb when the weather turns you might get stranded in the Outback with nobody coming along the road. That kills more tourists and grey nomads than all the venomous and toothy wildlife put together.

The roadhouse closing is more than just a logistical constraint. It's a sign. The sign says "the vast majority of travellers consider this impractical or unsafe". The wisdom of the crowd is that nobody goes that way in this season.

Whichever way you go, be warned that you won't be allowed to take fresh fruit or vegetables across the border from NT into WA.

I always find it amusing that we Aussies call a French Press a Plunger. You couldn’t get more unpretentious than that. 🤣

You won’t want to hear this but I broke my Mazda BT50 “in half” on the Gibb River road in 2024. The chassis rails over both rear wheels buckled and cracked causing my tow bar to scrape along the ground. However, I was towing an off-road caravan; you’re not.
I’d like to focus on the extraordinary beauty of the Kimberly but for me it became an extraordinarily traumatic. Good luck.

I would recommend asking someone at the Tourism centre, or the Police about venturing down the Gibbs River road. Good idea to let them know about your plans. Usually they would give some advise before you proceed. May even give you some emergency numbers just in case. But goodluck on the second half of your trip :D

Probably your best editing so far Chev...
🍻

Calm cruisy video. You made Darwin look gorgeous.  BTW you captured a bit of Au history with the helicopter formation flyby. The Tiger is retiring as Australia moves to the Apache.

Gibb River road will most likely be fairly rough in places. If you go that way - my suggestions. The prison tree at Wyndham is worth the drive. Amazing bird life on the tidal flats on the way in. Mornington wilderness lodge is worth a visit. Biggest boab I've ever seen in there (Tia for scale). Tunnel Creek early morning before the tourist buses (freshwater crocs) and Windjana Gorge worth a visit. You'll enjoy crossing the Pentecost River.

You look awesome & comfortable.
I just got some new sheep myself so this is such a great ambassadorship blend ❤
Australia loves you both.

Police are the best ones to advise on the gibb river road at this time. You need to advise them of your situation anyway

You guys are so lovable  :)
