ALL THE SMOKE

238,171 views

FULL EPISODE: CM Punk: WrestleMania’s Jordan vs Kobe Mat...

CM Punk explains why coming back to WWE finally made sense after nearly a decade away, and how conversations with Triple H, a different locker room culture, and a changed business helped open that door.

He also reflects on today’s WWE schedule, family life on the road, and why the company feels nothing like the place he left behind.

Imagine telling someone ten years ago, CM Punk and Colt Cobana are enemies, but he's friends with Triple H, insane

Say what y’all want about HHH, dude said he want the wrestlers to have a normal life. Man they was working so hard back when we was growing up in the Attitude era

As you get older you realize whats the point of holding on to old grudges

We all grow up. Sometimes you have to put the stupid shit aside

What made this conversation possible?

Real glass.

Say what you want, but I'm glad he and HHH made up and we got something we never thought we'd see out of it. That vision of Punk crying before achieving his lifelong dream and HHH coming up to him and consoling him saying "you've always been a main event guy, always" was so wholesome. Yeah he was a POS back in the day, frankly so was I to some people and Punk's done things he probably regrets too. But as I said at the time, after all HHH has gone through I doubt a 10 year old grudge was on his mind at all. So grateful this was what we got out of it and I'm cherishing every moment.

He's been a model citizen since returning and seems to be having the time of his life. Even HHH said his favorite thing to do these days is to sit down with Punk and exchange ideas. He seems to especially have fun in NXT mentoring the up-and-comers. He has made no secret he really likes NXT and I have no doubt he has a job waiting for him over there when his in-ring career is over. Either over there or at commentary.

we're 2-3 years into his return and i cant get tired of hearing how he and triple h were able to work it out and now have a good relationship

@arnoudbodde81 5 months ago

6:29 Punk was still in the middle of his story about how he eventually returned and then the video cuts to a question about meeting AJ Lee through wrestling. Why not continue on him having the gig at Fox and what happened after?

Expected a lot more of this clip to actually talk about the phone call with him and Triple H, although it’s well-documented. Good exchange and some of the change does have to do with HHH, just didn’t really match the title of this in my opinion.

This was a way more insightful interview than I expected it to be

Never been a big fan of HHH as a wrestler and booker overall but im glad he checked his ego and helped bring back Punk. That 2023 return here in Chicago was epic. And tbh this is some of Punks best work in the twilight of his career.
