Move over, Dave Kingman. Aubrey Huff would like a word on being officially titled Baseball's biggest A**hole. Today, we're diving into the great baseball career - and not so great, tragic, homophobic post-playing career - of Aubrey Huff.

Everson Walls (who should be in the Hall of Fame) donating a kidney to former teammate Ron Springs would be an illuminating story for those who are unaware.

I’d really like to hear you tell the story of Kirby Puckett, please.

Jeff, a story I'd like to hear about (from a great writer like yourself): The behind-the-scenes reasons why teammates in Seattle HATED Russell Wilson. And, he wasn't beloved by teammates in Denver, either. I have some other Seattle sports "drama" stuff too, that I can't remember right now. You could even tell us your perspective on the Sonics getting stolen from Seattle.

The eating of a banana is next level trolling. 🤤

I remember Kingman launching a shot onto Waveland avenue against the Phillies and Pete Rose in '79.
Mike Krukow Dean to somebody and there was a big brawl, great times for a 9-year-old going back home to visit.

Bill Buckner was a great Cub!!

I was too young to understand why I was the only person cheering for batting champion Alex Johnson at angels home games.. he gave angel manager lefty phillips apoplexy..and had a teammate pull a gun on him...

Greenies started LONG before the 1986 Mets.

I think his panic attack was caused by Brandon Belt taking his job.

Do a story on Brien Taylor.

Perhaps one explanation for people like Aubrey Huff, John Rocker, etc., can be found in a collection of essays, The Fire Next Time, by James Baldwin: “I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.”

The great thing about social media is it let's the rest of us know who the real a-holes in the world are.......

Former Major Leaguer Eddie Milner passed away in 2015 at the age of 60. He seemed healthy when I met him a few months prior and he couldn't have been nicer. He had struggles as noted on his Wikipedia page. I wonder if he lost his battle. Not much detail about his death.

I saw Rick Barry at Sea-Tac airport in 1974. I asked for his autograph--he was the first celebrity I had ever encountered.
He told me to "beat it,kid"
I was 12 years old.

Eating that banana gives real Frank eating a hoagie while on the news in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia vibes. 😂

Don’t think we didn’t notice what you were doing just casually eating a banana there. Nicely done lol

Jeff, terrific story and storytelling as usual ! Appreciate your candor - need more folkes telling the truth (like it is ...) in their journalism .
Look forward to every monday !

The Harvey Martin story would be cool. As a life long Cowboys fan it really pisses me off that he is rarely mentioned when it comes to the greatest pass rushers in NFL history.

Huff’s main complaint about Baltimore was that the strip club and bars close too early. He made those comments on the Bubba the Love Sponge show, so there’s an indicator of true class.

Thanks for the insights in AH. Someone who took his drug experiences in baseball and made good in life with it is Dock Ellis.

I met Aubrey Huff at my old job in SF after the Giants won the World Series he's a d bag. I grew up in MD knowing how well he played for the Os on a team that couldn't win. I wanted to congratulate him but he denied he was Huff. Said he hated the guy solely because everyone thought he was Aubrey Huff. Also he came into my place of work with other SF Giants teammates.
