it's a pity Jaden has so many opponents that sandbag against him, but when you're trying to sell the OG E-Heros, well, sacrifices were made, especially when the Neo Spacians came into play. fun concept, terrible execution
Okay since nobody in the chat mentioned it, I guess I will have to explain that the Destiny Heroes are neither exclusively British nor based on specific superheroes. In fact, the latter is false for most of them.
Doom Lord is based on Spawn, an anti-hero from the American Comic book company Image Comics. Al Simmons (who Spawn was before he became Spawn) was an American professional hitman and Todd McFarlane, the guy who came up with Spawn is himself Canadian. No Brits here and Spawn isn't really a superhero.
Double Dude is based on the British non-comic book Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde which is the inspiration for the Incredible Hulk (The Hulk being Mr. Hyde and Bruce Banner being Dr. Jekyll respectively) though the muscular for of Double Dude is likely based specifically on the Hulk.
Departed is The Invisible Man from HG Wells' book of the same name. The man who loses his visibility I think is British but is anything but a hero.
Diamond Dude isn't anyone specific but is supposed to resemble a 18-19th century Dandy. Those aren't specifically British either mind you.
Malicious is probably the weirdest one as the one who he most closely resembles is the demon form of the main character of the Manga and Anime Devilman.
Plasma is Dracula, specifically the Castlevania version because this is also from Konami.
Dark City is also a 1998 movie. Some of its sets were reused for the Matrix in case you're wondering what it's like.
Dreadmaster is based on the Man in the Iron Mask, a famous mystery prison of the French Crown who we still don't know the real identity of today. Voltaire famously speculated that he was an illegitimate brother of King Louis XIV and may have been imprisoned due to make sure he doesn't become of a rival for the throne. Though it is also possible he was just some guy and the mystery around him was entirely fabricated by the French guy who kept him prisoner for 34 years as he was the one spreading a lot of the rumors about him. One of those was that he's the son of Oliver Cromwell which might be why such a French character comes jumping out of something as unambiguously English as Big Ben (Clock Tower Prison).
If you're going to say something, you really should pause the video so you're not talking over him. But man, they made Edo a moron in their final duel.
Its always been a fact that everyone has to be weaker then anime jaden (except zane) because his deck is wack so its natural theres always gonna be miss plays
To be fair, in the original Yu-gi-oh the characters constantly drew draw cards. So, it may seem like it's annoying here that that happened, but that would also mean that just about every single duel in DM was unfair
