🔥 BREAKING NEWS FROM BURKINA FASO! A HISTORIC GOLD REFINERY IS HERE!

On September 28, 2026, Captain Ibrahim Traoré inaugurated Burkina Faso's first national gold refinery, RAFFINOR-BF, marking a major milestone in the country's industrial development.

🌍 FOR YEARS, BURKINA FASO EXPORTED GOLD FOR REFINING ABROAD. NOW THE COUNTRY WANTS TO CHANGE THAT MODEL!

The new refinery is designed to process 164 tonnes of gold annually in its initial phase, with plans to expand its capacity to 515 tonnes.

But this story is about more than gold.

It's about jobs, industrialization, technological expertise, local value addition and the future of Africa's mineral wealth.

Burkina Faso's government says its ambition is to move beyond extracting and exporting raw materials and develop greater control over the entire mineral value chain.

Could this refinery inspire a wider transformation of Africa's mining industry?

What will it take to ensure that Africa's mineral resources generate more economic opportunities for African communities?

Watch as we explore the refinery, its planned capacity and what this development could mean for Burkina Faso's economic future.

🌍 THE BIG QUESTION:
Should more African countries invest in processing their natural resources locally instead of exporting them for processing abroad?
