How would you respond if you sensed aggression during a conversation?

Some people lack a conscience. They have no shame or remorse and they like who they are and how they behave. They actually  enjoy the suffering of others which is sadistic. Don’t waste your time trying to understand these people just RUN and don’t look back.

PS my favorite way to respond to these people is by giving them the blank stare

The part about reacting in the exact way that hands over your power is so real. What changed it for me was something from Ulric Nolven, an archivist who wrote about when someone pushes, wait four seconds before you answer, then give them only facts. The catch he mentions is that your body has to stay quiet during the silence, because a clenched jaw just reads as anger you're holding back. Tried it with a guy at work who loves making scenes and he actually lost his train of thought halfway through

When in danger, sometimes you just have to listen to your instincts, don't try to push them down, push them away or try to rationalize them away. I personally think and have experienced on more than one occasion that we feel energy, both positive and negative, we can feel a mood shift or a room or space shift suddenly. Our bodies are powered by a form of electrical energy from our central nervous system. There is nothing woo woo about it. Most of us have had that "Oh shit!" moment before someone takes a swing at us or gets angry and aggressive before they say or do a single thing outwardly that would tip us off about it. Listen! Tune in. Stop doubting yourselves.
 Now the woo woo stuff. A thought will come out of nowhere. Sometimes it's as simple as a thought, "Take an umbrella or a pencil" and we reason it away, it's a perfectly sunny day, I don't need it. Then we find ourselves soaking wet later, wishing we'd have listened. When we start listening due to experience with small things, then we can listen to the big stuff, like that person is trouble, lock your door, wait, get out, walk away, run away, don't go in there, don't go out there, turn around, duck and you do it or don't and find out later exactly why that warning came to you. Listen.

I've read a lot of these comments. Accountability vs. shame stands out. You can be ashamed and take accountability and course correct your life. This is much different than feeling shame because we fall short of "peoples" expectation of who and what we are. That's between you and your "higher power". Allegedly 🤙🏻

Not even halfway in the video and I can tell you that describe my childhood my dad ended up, marrying a narcissistic woman who was raised by a toxic family that was very strict on everything which was practically the closest thing you see to North Korea, literally not even allowed to look outside because it was so bad and that narcissist energy travelled to us. Growing up it was just constant arguing with my parents my mom being rude and narcissistic about everything believe what a doctor said when they told me I needed medication and obeyed always listen to everybody else over me did not listen to anything I said does whatever is tall without asking any questions constant arguing with my Dad constant whining, constant complaining, constant defensive And overall just a negative person to be around. Sometimes they arguing got so bad that the locks were changed and the police were called glass was broken on the floor and now that I’m in my 30s the same narcissist and negative energy goes on, but I have overcome and healed my wounds And now I am free to look at her dead in the eye and tell her it’s time to grow up and get over herself and I’m free to say no I’m free to say it’s my life. I do things my way and when I hear that no I can’t nonsense I say Why are you still think you’re in charge this is America. I am free to do what I want and so are you but you choose not to overall I do not let these narcissistic people step on me and I can detect them for miles. I feel good that I have finally healed my own wounds, but it amazes me to how many people I meet that are just stuckand because they’re miserable and sad. They think everyone else should be too, so we can “feel their pain” you know what man we all had bad childhood we have all had things that have like traumatize us. I mean we’re how old now we’re in our 30s or 50s and you’re still gonna cry about something that happened when you were like 10 years old. as for my relationship life, I am single because I have learned my lesson from my parents and whenever I meet women that have the same paths or the same type of attitudes or I can just since it’s gonna be the same thing I can look at them dead in the eye and say no.

I love holding up a mirror to ugly behavior. Especially the passive aggressive comments. The say that again, works like a charm. The need to be accepted by everyone, the person will likely not repeat it. If they are a decent person, they will say "oh nothing, just fkn around" Or some have just froze when they realized I didn't find their insult as amusing.

I think this applies to normal people.

I think it is hard to apply this to us with PTSD or work related to espionage.

Haha, I love how every piece of advice is the same thing. "think this? wrong - it's the opposite" and then everyone wonders why no one can communicate any more.

I don’t respond to disrespect my spirit can’t comprehend the language of confusion. I simply remove my presence, silence speaks and allows the other to think more.

I kinda always speak less, less information = less of chance of them turning anything you say into further ammo against you. Then avoid them mindfully, pretty much completely. Like try positioning yourself 2 or 3 degrees of others away from them, so when they do explode one way or another, your so small in the background your pretty much forgotten or never thought of. Basically, out of sight out of mind.
