Unlock the secrets of jazz mastery with Wes Montgomery’s method for internalizing, personalizing, and dominating jazz language—a system used by other legends like Grant Green and Pat Martino. In this lesson, dive deep into Wes’s genius as we break down 5 iconic licks, each highlighting a distinct jazz sound (bluesy bends, chromatic runs, rhythmic phrasing, and more), then explore how to apply this vocabulary to the essential ii-V-I progression. Discover how to piece together licks, motifs, and rhythms to craft fresh, original lines that reflect your unique voice. Whether you’re a guitarist or any instrumentalist, this lesson will teach you to stop memorizing and start creating, transforming just a few licks into 100+ personalized ideas while capturing the soul of jazz legends.

Wes.
Benson from Rick Beato's interview:
"I had to find out what he [Wes] was trying to get over, what was the main message, what was he trying to say to the public. Can I say it differently? I found out I could say it differently."
"I wounder why he never added this note to his octave, I wounder why Wes never thought of that, ahh, I can do something even Wes Montgomery can't do." 😸
But nice lesson.
