Itaya Pass is often closed according to road traffic information for the outskirts of Fukuoka City.
It is a steep mountain pass in the middle of the Sefuri Mountains, made of granite 100 million years ago.
We will cross it on our motorbikes, taking in the rocks and topography.

このダムは貯水量4千万トンの内、千万トンが治水枠とされており、その分を空けておく運用なので、いつもはオーバーフローはない。試験の時だけの貴重な経験だったのだ。
字面から桧原とか柏原の近くにあるものとばかり思ってましたが全然違いましたね。
ひなびた風情の温泉と蕎麦にそそられました。今度行ってみよっと。
福岡市から直ぐ近くに蕎麦も食せる山奥ツーリング最高ですね。夜間バイク通行止めとか無さそうだし。
板谷峠手前の道がきれいなところは豪雨災害等で崩れたところを修復した後です。
背振ダムの神社はダム建設に伴い移転されたものです。ちなみに山神社は「やまがみしゃ」と読みます。
早良営業所から乗り継いで椎原に行ったことを思い出しました。
この道をバスが通る姿は衝撃でしたが、今も現役路線のようですね。
反対の脊振から板屋に向かう路線もありましたが、こちらは
五ケ山ダムに旧道が沈んだ頃に廃止になりました。
福岡屈指の秘境バス路線をたどって頂き、バスマニアとしても歓喜しました。
板屋峠から五ヶ山ダムを過ぎて坂本峠→七曲峠→野峠→自衛隊基地をぐるっと回って板屋へ戻るルートが好きでした
野峠から三瀬峠に抜けて福岡へ帰るルートも良き
また行きたいなぁ
野峠の真ん中あたりで雪が降り始め、野峠自体が封鎖されて取り残されたのは良い思い出…
かっこいいバイクですねえ
板屋峠の道がかなりきれいになっているように見えました。
数年前に古い４輪で通ったときは
道がガタガタでブレーキキャリパーのパッキンが破れました。
