This video explains how to make Chikuzen-ni (a Japanese simmered dish) by a former Japanese cuisine chef.

The recipe and method are the same as those used in the restaurant.

The key to making delicious Chikuzen-ni lies in two things: vegetable preparation and chicken cooking.

Instead of stir-frying, parboil the vegetables, leaving a slight bite. For the chicken, sear it skin-side down first, remove excess fat, and avoid simmering it for too long.

By keeping these points in mind, anyone can make professional-quality Chikuzen-ni.

Other tips, such as how to achieve a glossy finish and plating, are also explained. Please watch the full video for details.

For those short on time and unable to complete the time-consuming process, a separate time-saving recipe is also available.
