I honestly hate the chiefs. None r worth there weight in salt. All arrogant n think they r the navy just bc they wear anchors. There’s no gunny’s mast only the navy does this. To much separation in uniform. In marines n army everyone has the same uniform too

Master Chief Hooper

I just saw this today and all I can say it WHAT THE HELL KIND OF BOOT CAMP SHIT IS THIS!!!

I ain't NEVER seen this kind of BS and I have attended a few hundred Chief's Initiations and ceremonies.

You haven't been initiated until you've been initiated in Subic Bay.

James Stinson
MMCS/SS USN
USN 1971-1992

The initiation is not a requirement. Be within standards, CO promotion endorsement and leadership academy which is mostly some fat chief reading off a PowerPoint. Don't be fooled by the so called u have to do this. If they say that to u or discriminate u in any way, go to legal, do an IG. As long as the chiefs mess is using a federal institution,  they cannot prevent u from meetings, etc. Heck, the association needs permission from the base CO to operate and.... not part nor endorsed by the Navy anyways. Know your rights and exercise them.

And u will get pinned when u get paid... unless u get frocked before that, only the CO can retain frocking and if he does, what was the reason? If u met the standard, they cannot prevent frocking. Get legal involved, you will win. Once you are pinned as a chief, never ever be part of a DRB, not part of the legal system nor required... sometimes those idiots in a DRB cause more harm than anything. If u ever in a DRB, ask for a lawyer and keep your mouth shut, chances are, command has nothing on u. Stay in the DRB until 1630 and walk out at 1631, only the CO can secure your regular liberty,  but ask the senior person first if he or she is securing your liberty. Unless they have a letter from the CO, they can't cause it isn't punitive.  Know your rights....

These are the people that get things done. Where do the officers go to execute objectives, they go to the chiefs!

My favorite MC narrating this video

My NSI in JROTC was on the Nimitz as a Chief. Chief Scott Williams.

GO NAVY!!!!

There was no classes on the DD that I was back in the '60s. learned the hard by OJT. I guess that the difference between the old navy and the new navy. very good video.

I worked for Senior Chief Williams as a young man in the Navy. What a great example of leadership!
