I worked construction my entire life, but now I'm a pianist, earning a free cup of coffee each week, playing a 20 minute set at a cafe in Cape Cod. You are a music god Julian, thank you.

It is said 20 percent of the basics get 80 percent of the job done!. This sir is one of those brilliant lessons..if implemented and practised, these are already the course materials for 3 years of piano practise. Thank you so much!!! Just brilliant tutorial!

As a classical pianist i must admit jazz theory is indeed quite fun and awesome

Just downloaded your materials, and I'm really grateful for all the work you put into providing these fundamentals. I had lessons long ago, but I can't tell you how much I would've benefitted from having these basics explained to me early on. As it happened, I did eventually "figure out" most of this, but only through much frustration and with a lot of unnecessary self-criticism and feeling inept along the way. Even knowing most of it, in theory, it's invaluable to have it so clearly summarized and concisely arranged. Just a little pissed that I didn't have these pdfs at hand when I first tried to learn jazz (this was before pdfs existed, of course, and before YouTube, and before the internet, and before... computers, to be honest, so there's that...). It will be fun to review and practice, so thank you for your work! You did a good thing.

I’m
Skipping to your arranging ideas!! I’ve played all my life so I know a lot of this. Started at 7. I’m 80 now. Still learning! It never ends

I find the building of chords by stacking patterns of major or minor thirds the most direct.

Julian, everything you teach in this course is truly impressive and incredibly valuable. Thank you for the clarity you bring and for the helpful materials you attach to each lesson.

Hi Julian, what I really miss is rhythm and swing. Can you give a lesson on that? Thanks.

Everytime I searched for keywords on "jazz piano tutorial", "jazz piano improvisation tutorial", etc, all lead to your videos. I stay tune to your channel since before the pandemic. Your concise explanation and the way you teach is the most briliant method ever! You are an amazing tutor, Julian. Thank you!

My dear friend, this video is pure gold! Wow, I still can't believe you majestically managed to condense all this jazz technique into such a simplified explanation. It's as if you teach without vanity and you possess the wisdom of jazz at the same time. You are a true master and teacher. Concepts that I struggled or still struggle to understand, you simply unveiled for me in this video! Thank you so much! Please continue with this wonderful work.

In the "how to count intervals" section you've mis-labelled the Maj7 as a minor 7.
