Lets Live in Thailand

Thailand’s official THIM (Thailand Immigration Management System) app is
now available, but as of late June 2026 most long-term expats should
continue using the TDAC (Thailand Digital Arrival Card) web portal.
Here’s what you need to know before your next trip to Thailand.

In this video find out exactly what THIM (Thailand Immigration
Management System) is, how it differs from the mandatory TDAC (Thailand
Digital Arrival Card), and walk through using it step by step.

What’s covered: - THIM vs TDAC — what’s the difference and do you need
both? - How to download and set up THIM correctly - The eKYC identity
verification process explained - Why long-term expats and residents
should stick with the TDAC web portal for now - What’s coming in Phase 2
(October 2026)

Great amusing take of the Thai progress of THIM and great content with pop-ups, not just simple sit in front of a desk and record.

I'm a long term resident in Thailand (12 years) and recently returned from a holiday in Vietnam. When clearing Immigration I was NOT asked for my QR code or email confirmation by the Immigration officer. When I showed him the QR code, which I saved as a copy on my phone, I was advised that it was not necessary as the information was already in the system, and like Thim, it was visible to him when he scanned my passport.
Now like many things involving Thai Immigration, it will all depend on the individual IO as to whether a pic of the QR code or copy of the email confirmation is required.

The only thing the IO actually wanted confirmation of was my telephone # and proof of my address. I showed him my pink ID card, BUT also told him to check the back of my passport for my current TM30 and 90 report paperwork. Once he saw all 3 had the same address as what I entered into TDAC, ll was good and cleared to re-enter.

As far as extensilns are concerned, no information yet as to whether this is only for extensions of tourist visas and visa on arrival or whether annual extensions of stay ill also be a possibility.

The Thim App now sends you a confirmation email and a QR code once you have completed your health declaration 72 hours before arrival.

I've obtained my TDAC using both options. THIM app is by far the easiest and best way to complete the TDAC form...Easy Peasy.

And it worked just have to wait, finished 72 hours to do the medical, everything else submitted

I used THIM today and received an email and a QR code.

I like being able to fill out the data a week in advance instead of 1.5 days before departure, even if I have to submit it within that time period.

I had completed my upcoming trip on July 23 in THIM. It was a little dicey on getting the selfie to match the passport, but after about 3 tries it worked. All I needed to do was enter my Health information 3 days before to finish it my trip, but based on what you are saying and another website I deleted that trip from THIM and will only go with the TDAC for this trip especially since I have a Non-O Visa to renew this trip.

I have entered Thailand 3 times since the TDAC came into force and have not been asked to show the e,mail or the QR code, I just had to give them my passport
