Thanks to your questions I just realized I'm a Peachtober girlie through and through, so this year I'm going to participate for the first time. I have tried Inktober many years but I have never finish it and now I noticed that while it helps for you to work on your values I tend to get bored and I quit. So wish me luck this october with a new journey

You can use color with the inktober prompt list, their are inktense blocks, inktense pencils, colored inks, and lots of people use watercolor ontop of the inked drawings.

The idea that Inktober is so ridged just doesn't hold up. Even if you stick to just ink, ink comes in every colour imaginable. I've done Inktober a few times in the past, and each time I've used lots of colour and lots of different supplies, not just ink. Also, every year I've seen tones of artwork by people creating scenes that play with colour, light and atmosphere. Some people make whole comics or try to incorporate lots of the prompts in the same image which is more visual storytelling than drawing skills based. I think the real question is 'which set of words do you prefer' as there are dozens and dozens of prompt lists nowadays!

As someone who wants to both practice my drawing skills and have fun with visual storytelling, I think alternating between both or doing tiny artworks for both each day seems cool

Thanks for the interesting topic in the video. This year, I decided to take part in Inktober for the first time—even though I’m well past twenty, I only just worked up the courage to do it. I’m an amateur artist; I studied at art school for a few months but couldn't continue, so I’m trying to learn on my own. I think the essence of this challenge isn't really about working with ink itself, but rather the skill of managing shadows and midtones using just a single tool. Graphic work is the foundation. As of October 6th, things are going well for me; I’ve already finished the piece for the next day, and I’m currently figuring out how to handle the "magic" theme.😊🧡🍁🐿️🍂🧡👍

Oh, I like so much this squirrel! And yes the most important is to find the good way to travel this drawing painting challenge. Usually I'm not really inspired by some of the prompts and I usually never succeed for that. I will try words of my choice this year. Thanks to sharing peachtober.

Love Calmtober since it's every other day for those who don't have the time this month or want to deal with the stress of completing 31 prompts. I love gathering the prompts from several and keeping them in my sketchbook so that I can pull from them whenever I need to be inspired or want to start another 30 day challenge. They are great inspirations, but I have to say my favorite is next month with folktale week. It's only a week and I love fairytales and folktales so I always get so inspired by the art and stories that I want to create my own...maybe one day. 😂

I never heard of Peachtober before !
In my case I always end up choosing my own prompts instead so I don't choose a specific challenge.

I'm writing and Illustrating a Childrens book throughout October or my Insta I' ll be using inktober prompt list which I've been doing every year for the littles. The Story was half Written before I found the Peachtober prompt list. I use different colour lnks and do full Colour Illustrations ( well hopefully )
