Thanks so much for joining us! We really enjoyed showing you around and making sure you tried some of the best street food Japan has to offer. Sae and Yappy have also been raving about how much fun it was hanging out with you. We agree, the Okonomiyaki Kare Pan is definitely GOATED 😌

We hope you come back to Japan to see us again soon! Arigato!
⛩😄

Such a good boy posting right as I sit down to eat dinner

Hokkaido so proud of their milk they don't even add vanilla extract to the ice cream. They were right.  Vanilla would have been a distraction from the creamy milk flavor.

As a local, I secretly feel happy when my favorite Japanese street foods get overlooked or rated low — it keeps the tourist crowds away.

Quick note: iJooz the orange juice vending machine is actually from Singapore!! Proud to see my country repped in Japan (even if just a little) 🇸🇬

you mentioned that the japanese don't over sweeten their desserts, and that is actually why I love japanese desserts and candies.  the fact that its sweet without tasting like a punch on the tongue is so nice and refreshing.

Hi Joshua! At around 13:48ish, a woman in a ponytail with a purple bag and white uniqlo shirt, and a man with light hair and beard probably walked past the camera holding taiyakis as well. (you can see us coming around the corner in the video, lol)
That was me and a friend, who were also in Japan in the time, and we were wondering who you were since you were fliming while we were eating our food with our group off to your right :) Glad we were able to track you down here on youtube!
Glad you liked Japanese food as much as well did!
it was my first time in Japan, and hope to go back someday

Being in Japan for your first time as an American is comparable to walking into toys R us for the first time as a child. What an amazing place.

Rikuro Ojisan’s cheesecake isn’t just some passing trend.
It’s been around for 40 years, and it’s been loved ever since.
You can only buy it in Osaka here in Japan.
There are other shops that sell similar cheesecakes, but I really love Rikuro Ojisan’s cheesecake the most.
Of course, everyone has their own preferences. 💦

最初の「アメリカの日本食レストランで３年働きました」と言っているときの映像で、ひとつも日本食が出てないの面白い。

We need Josh to go to Vietnam and do a Vietnamese Street Food series

Finally there’s a person who doesn’t just eat the ^viral^ foods and also just glaze everything. As a Japanese guy and a enjoyer of this channel, W josh

After having watched hundreds if not THOUSANDS of videos of japan, I can't believe how excited I was to listen to someone who can actually articulate how some of the tastes and textures of the food really is. This video was awesome and I hope there are more japanese videos to come (also Sae is an absolute MINX and hopefully she shows up more as well)

personally would never place cotton candy from any country that high in a tier list

As someone who's lived in Japan their entire adult life, and fell in love with Japanese food, I'm so glad he spoke so highly of the food here. Food in Japan really is something special. They're so passionate about making everything taste so good, your standards become super high. Of Joshua's list, my favorite S tier is the nikuman/pork bun. I miss it sooo much, I wish you could get it outside of Osaka! It's a shame the matcha dessert didn't hold up, but I recommend Nakamura Tokichi for amazing matcha dessert!

I love seeing Josh give things S tier. He scrutinizes so hard but if he gives something an S you know it’s incredible

'Yappy' because he's a tour guide. Very appropriate. 😊

1:17 I appreciate Josh calling out the hundreds if not thousands of YouTubers filming themselves cook and “enjoy” tanholo fruit sticks, and 99% of them are NOT cooking the sugar to hard ball state. Brushed their teeth extra that day.

Hey Joshua, you should start a series called "But Simple" where you simplify extravagant dishes so regular home cooks can make them at home without spending the entire day in the kitchen. Love your stuff, keep it up!

The channel Japaneat is my favorite one for Japanese food. He finds these back alley out of the way even underground food malls.
