I have never met anyone that has been shot multiple times with a shotgun and was around to tell about it.

A pistol will never match a shotguns stopping power and a shotgun will never be as maneuverable as a pistol

The biggest disadvantage of a shotgun imo is the availability of area to train: if you are using it for home defense, the locations you can train with buckshot are incredibly limited if you don’t have your own land.

Clint Smith put it best:
“Pistols put holes in people. Rifles put holes through people. A shotgun with an appropriate load and range will blow off chunks and throw it on the fucking floor.”

The one that goes BOOM! There fixed it for ya...lol

Mossberg shockwave with shorty slugs  ,  Give ' em that 1oz slappin'

The best home defense gun is the one that you are most comfortable and familiar with. Great video!

Pistol or shotgun? Neither - suppressed SBR with a drum.

I use to be a Pation supporter if your channel but now I have fully retired and as you know, that just pays the bills but I would pay for your videos if I could. Great content on firearms.

The answer is "whichever gun is going to do the least amount of permanent hearing damage to you when you fire it in the hallway at night with no ear protection"

Quoting "John J. Rambo"

" The mind is the best weapon" all of this are tools.

Shotguns are pretty cool

Or... A shotgun pistol/revolver! You be the Judge.

Please don't hate me.

Shot placement is the most important factor imo!! Choose what YOU are most comfortable and competent with and don’t worry so much about what everyone else thinks! I pray no one ever finds themselves in a self defense situation and thank God we still have the right to protect ourselves and loved ones as well! (The Right to Keep and Bare Arms Shall Not be Infringed)!!

Home defense isn't a dynamic open-field shootout, it’s a close-quarters ambush. Like our gun-tuber said, it would be preferred for that intruder to just run. But if he’s determined enough and steps into your sight picture, you’re only getting one or two clean shots before they take cover and return fire. We've all seen videos of people taking multiple 9mm rounds, keeping their feet, and shooting back. Personally, I'd rather that very first round be from a 00 buckshot moving at 1,300 fps. I would love to see an intruder fight through that.

a pistol is for fighting your way to a long gun

Springfield echelon for me

Pistol caliber carbine for the win!

Pistol is really useful if you need to move through your house. Having a free hand while still being able to shoot accurately is underrated.

Rifle if you're outside. Simple.

A short barrel PCC is the best option. Easy to shoot for anyone and high capacity ammo.  For the vast majority of people shotguns are very difficult to handle in a high-risk situation.
