Reminder regarding the Space Marine height: the series is set in M39, millennia before the arrival of Primaris Marines standing 9-10 feet tall. At this point the standard firstborn Astartes measured in around 7 feet tall, or 8 feet tall when armored, putting their elbows close to 5 feet off the ground. (Not a criticism, just a note for newcomers!)

The Details in Astarte's Series is insane; knowing it is basically One person Behind it generally speaking!

Astartes is a proof that some fans are more versed in the source material than it's owners. Never underestimate the power of passion .

I always viewed this not as his actual eye being an issue or what we're seeing here. Because we've seen canonical Space Marines lose an eye and it doesn't grow back and requires either an eyepatch or a bionic/augmented eye replacement. Gaultus, for instance.
What I always thought this was is that the external protective eye piece was cracked and destroyed which allowed you to see into the lenses and sensors that are behind it.

15:38 the subzero temperatures are a result of the thinning of the veil between real space and the warp. This is established lore. It was not intentional, it was a side effect of using powerful psychic energies.

This answered so many questions that I had. Now I have to go back and watch it for the Nth time

A NEW TEASER TRAILER FOR ASTARTES 2 WAS JUST RELEASED ABOUT AN HOUR AGO!!

15:38 The use of psychic powers causes minor manifestation of warped physics in its vicinity, and one of the most common examples of this is rime or hoarfrost covering nearby surfaces. I believe this cracked ice is just meant to show that this is a psychically active area.

Astarte's depiction of the warp is actually anxiety inducing, and definitely my favourite depiction of it

11:18 This is a great video, but I feel it needs to be pointed out that the red “eye” you see isn’t his actual eye, it’s the sensors in his helmet becoming visible when the lens cracks. So yes, it does show that he is being crushed, but it’s not his actual eye being injured.

Everytime I see Astartes it surprises me with new hidden details, is wild for one person😮

15:43 this ice is Hoarfrost, a sign that border between reality and Immaterium is thin in the area.

Best breakdown of this Astartes video. Details like the names on the shoulder paldrons I hadn't notice.

9:42 I wonder if Chris Nolan took inspiration for Agamemnon's helmet from Astartes ...

Having a whole new minor faction is actually great to me. It expands the galaxy and makes even bigger and more terrifying, like humanity is really beset on all sides even beyond the major players. I feel like Warhammer relies sometimes too heavily on falling back on typical enemies at times. Don’t get me wrong, I love fleshing out or telling cool stories with them, but I like the idea of adding even more and having interaction with all the existing factions.

6:15 I love the detail of seeing that Thunderhawk do a stranding run of the enemy ship, taking out its engines in the process, just prior to the boarding torpedo impact.
