happy pride month!!! watch "the assassination of patrice lumumba" exclusively on my patreon (link in desc), sorry bout the hiatus lol

"Someone's personal civil liberties are not a fringe issue to them." My based af governor

i've kept saying to myself "things are going to get worse for trans people before they get better," but i have no idea how long i'm going to have to wait until the public at large views us as normal people instead of a threat. i just want to be treated like a person with desires and feelings instead of some grifter's political pawn. it's beyond exhausting and i have no idea when it will end

They didn't.  This ain't over.

We only lose if we give up , and we never will.

"I may be in crippling medical debt due to my healthcare coverage being cut, and I may be unemployed due to my employer laying me off due to tariffs... but hey, at least that one single trans girl in my entire state isn't allowed to play badminton anymore! MAGA!"

What a tragedy, to win 5th place, instead of 5th place

Don't lose hope — that's what they want. It's awful, but we'll get through this too. And remember, we are stronger when we are united.

As someone else said, ain't over yet. Queer people have and always will exist, no matter the politics or era. We've invented languages, tech, entire aesthetic/political movements. As long as there's humanity, there we are

Congrats on your graduation! I wish we didn’t have to worry about the heavy stuff you’re covering, but am very grateful there’s people like you up front to keep fighting the good fight!

i wish that people would discuss sexual violence and statistics when talking about this stuff.
im a 17 year old trans woman and i have been through so much sexualization, fetishization, and victimization throughout my whole life and all of my abusers have been cisgender men. ive internalized so many messages about me just being a fetish. i know i cant be the only transfem whos been through these experiences and statistics show that we aren't spared from male violence or misogyny or anything of the like.
theres so many real and ongoing social issues that need to be addressed but nobody is doing or saying anything. sexual violence is literally labeled a global pandemic.
i cant comprehend whats happening anymore i just wish i could live and get the healthcare i need

The thumbnail for this video is the ultimate nightmare blunt rotation. I'm squinting trying to look for Dave Chappelle and anyone else that might've been missed. Is Oli London in there somewhere?

Could you imagine creating your whole personality on hating a group of people, or crying about losing 5th place your whole life 😅

The struggle isn't over just yet. RIP Charlotte Fosgate, and RIP Ka Daisy in the Philippines. They wont be forgotten, and trans rights will win. Happy pride month y'all

I've been helping with Texas Pride planning (at least in our rather Liberal oasis) and I have joined with a wonderful group of like- and open-minded folks who welcome all within the Progressive Pride flag. Y'all means All, as we say.

The path to Lawrence v Texas took a similar arc, with backlashes following gains, two steps forward and one step back. The problem is Trump 2.0 took about five steps back and it's unclear where to go from here.

I used to not really care about trans issues, I'd never met anyone who was out as trans and was under the impression that it was very rare. I've since come to realise that it's a lot more common than I thought, met several trans people and I now care more about trans rights, because I want people to be able to live the way they want as long as they don't harm others.
I can't fathom how you make people care about trans rights and be AGAINST them, that'd be like hating broccoli and wanting to ban it. Just don't eat broccoli. And if you feel like you're not trans, don't transition. Simple. Let others eat broccoli and be trans.

"The victor is not victorious if the vanquished does not consider himself so" - Ennius, until we stop fighting transphobia has not won.

Sjsu story favourite bit: when those volleyball teams that forfeited bc of an undisclosed trans woman on sjsu filed an injunction to amend tournament results if sjsu won (they didn’t) the judge actually said [embellished]

“is this your signature, on the rules, which you’ve been playing under for two years already, alongside this trans player for two years already, but now that you know who she is it’s a problem? But it wasn’t a problem those other years? Yeah, no injunction”

Sjsu has their players’ stats, go ahead, guess which one is the trans player, and when you’ve got your guess go find one of the dozen articles that mentions her name without permission.

It's depressing to realize just how many people are out there who will vote for a party that will hurt them, so long as said party promises their voters to hurt those they hate *more*.
