I honestly doubt we will ever see a mainstream Production with the level of care, attention to detail and forethought we got with Alien, ever again..

Cheers as ever, RA

A one hour and thirty minute treat!  Thanks Rob!

Kane is kept alive by the face hugger even with his helmet broken

26:04 I always found that this Alien movie poster looks like a cinema theater, with the seat rows in front and the egg on the screen. I'm still convinced it looks like that at first sight, when you don't look at the details too hard.

"Vaginal Doorways" is definitely an album title!

Hey just wanna say I love your videos.  I’ve been checking them out for awhile now and recently just started binging them. You have a unique point of view and always something interesting to say.  Keep making these please!!!!

One of the best movies ever made I will never forget watching this movie for the first time alone in my room late and all the lights turned off oh man I wish I could get back that experience again!

Thank you for explaining Giger so thoroughly!

It cant be a coincidence. I am sick at home from work and Rob drops an hour and half video? This is perfect

I love these videos, brings me
Peace. And I love Alien it truly is a masterpiece

90 minutes of Rob discussing Alien. Let's go! I'm not a science fiction fan nor does space films ever capture me attention, however Alien is a rarity. It's dialogue and horror aspects with feelings of isolation always terrified me but didn't even realise that there's so much hidden themes within the film.

It seems like if Ash drinks milk, then is full of milky white blood, that this creates an association that ties into the mother/biotechnology theme. Like Ash, though a technologically advanced piece of machinery, is still pretty inchoate as a human person, still dependent on and full of "Mother's" milk. The human immaturity of Ash might explain the weird magazine weapon scene, too, not knowing the subtleties of how sex works, just ends up trying something random and aggressive that's at least suggestive.

This is the most primordially terrifying film ever, and seems even more so after watching this analysis. I'll never sleep again now. Thanks!

I am so broke. I cannot afford at all to pay for your prime analyses. Thank you for the free-bee:face-blue-smiling::hand-pink-waving: I appreciate it.

It’s a great movie. I saw Aliens first when it came out but as I got older, I appreciated Alien a lot.

Lambert’s anxiety during Dallas’s search for the Alien was fantastic.

1:19:05 Ripley covered in Ash's "blood".

Your content is unique in perspective, depth, and information .  Probably the most observant, and insightful commentary on media on the net.

Birth, life and death is more horrifying than anything in fiction that humans can conceive of. It's why stories/movies like this help us to deal with the cold, hard realities of a godless, random universe.

Giger was so far ahead of his time. Much of his artwork seems to be a dire warning of the transhumanist hellscape that awaits us.

P.S. It's important to note that, in the scene where Ripley reactivates Ash, Ian Holms had to tolerate being covered in rapidly curdling milk and surrounded by fish guts. The smell must have been absolutely appalling, so it's no wonder he was twitching like that!

i always love these kind of videos cause i never see the subtext of movies like these and it makes viewing them so much more interesting and this one was really good
