drawing with chunky oil pastels on such a small scale is hard, and you nailed it with these portraits! Love your chatty style commentary.

No ma’am! Don’t change what you’re doing! It’s difficult for most people to see past the actual skin tones so the fact that you see  greens and stuff first is phenomenal!! Keep going girl you are doing great!

You notice the undertones and thats actually cool! Many artists cannot even do that.
The second portrait, she does have greens and yellows as her undertones
And i absolutely love your style! Its your identity as an artist ✨

There's a very specific point at which the drawings literally gain life and its so cool to see!!

I am AMAZED at the detail you could achieve with the oil pastels! Gorgeous!

Watching you draw these tiny portraits and oil pastels is like watching a magician show how they do a trick step-by-step and still being amazed

You are NOT doing it wrong! You are really seeing these colors in their skin; it’s a skill. You would be an amazing makeup artist. Ex: Gotta know what color to put down on yellow skin to balance it out! (Purple btw).

I love how you crack yourself up and enjoy your own work!

oil pastels are SO scary to me lmao. I haven't gotten to balls to just jump into them but its enlightening to watch you work with them and see your tinkering process along w your thoughts. Great vid as always Hannah thanks for sharing

I love that you’re able to capture so many different sorts of faces! Some people tend to suffer from same face syndrome, where everyone looks fairly the same, but your faces are so different and expressive! And realistic too. Love it!

My only problem with your video is that I could only give it 1 thumbs up. :face-red-heart-shape: I loved your video and I adore pastels so this was fantastic for me!

To be able to see the values in colors before seeing the hue is honestly more impressive than focusing on hue. (in response to your "I don't see color accurately" comment) I think that makes starting or practicing a lot in a toned medium such as charcoal a really valuable thing. It kind of trains you to recognize value first.

Its lovely how you make fun of your stubbornness.
Im blown away by the details and colours you achieved in oil pastels.

I looove your energy and how you're getting into it even when mistakes are happening. for my perfectionistic type of drawing and painting you inspired me !

I am glad this was a longer video.  Loved seeing and hearing your learning process- so helpful!  You have a happy and pleasant voice.

Hey! I've been watching this series for the past couple of days, and I have to say, this spread is my favourite!! I really liked the olive skinned girl portrait, and really love how you identify skin colours. Really great work with the details too on a very small scale. Well done, and thank you so much for this series, very enlightening! 🎉

I loved your drawings and your happy chatter

Oooo, thank you for demoing those blenders! I just ordered these last week for oil pastels and it's great to see how I can use them. That tip on roughing up the surface so the light color will sit on top is gold.

I'm so impressed by your ability to see the local colors. Your efforts to train your eye are seriously paying off because a lot of folks struggle to see blues and greens in the skin and you've got it.

Don’t change the style of vid! I love you chatting about the details and what works and doesn’t. Great learning for me as I’m trying to get into oil pastel!!! Thanks for the awesome vid and it was very inspiring and entertaining!!! The Faces are awesome

this is so inspiring i feel like once u learned how to do one u can do them all, im ordering oil pastels to do portraits tooo
