Rob wrote the lyrics and took them to Carlos. When he saw the line "I could change my life to better suit you mood" he asked Rob if she was Latina and he said yes. And the best collab of the 90's was born!

Holy Sh**! Has it really been 25 years since this was the hottest song playing?? Where did the time go? Still hot. 🔥🎸

It's so rare to hear a song I could listen to hundreds of times and never get tired of it.  Smooth is that song, this is one of the greatest tunes ever.  Even the year it won everything and was played everywhere I never tired of this one.

After one note, you instantly know it’s Carlos. A master.

My father loves Santana, I loved Matchbox 20. When this collab dropped in the 90s my father and I had a good time vibing out at full volume in the living room <3

This song won song of the year at the Grammy’s.

There has never been a better celebration of music and urban life in one video. Never.

The big song was actually this one. Smooth and Maria Maria were on the Supernatural album.

My Generation knew and Loved Santana.   When Santana recorded this collaboration albums and this song hit the radio…
I would laugh at the 90’s generation asking “have you heard of Santana”?

Videos like this one are proof of what Gen Xers like me have been saying for decades. "Who gives a rip about skin tone." Look at the beautiful variety of people having a  blast together listening to great music. Love the part were Santa  crosses himself due to that one girl 's dance moves. Variety is the spice of life proven over and over through music and food.

There’s no way anyone over about 30 yrs old has never heard this or doesn’t remember it on the radio back then

The beauty is Rob Thomas' wife.

This was “thee” song of summer of 99, & you heard this song everywhere, multiple times a day.

I'll never forget bumping into Carlos Santana in Tiburon, California. He simply looked at me, held up the Peace Sign ✌️☮️ and said "Love and Light My Brother" I was star struck & in awe. Wife was like "Dude, pick your jaw up off the floor" lol

I got to see SANTANA live last year. One of the best concerts I've ever been to. The whole crowd was on their feet dancing and singing the whole concert.

Not only is he a great musician he is a great human being. He heard a former drummer of his was homeless and sleeping on the street. He went and found him and got him back to health and put him back to work

omg YES I am so glad you did this reaction it is amazing!  This song is phenomenal

This won an Grammy in  2000.

Carlos Santana is a living legend. 25 years ago 1999 his guitar work is so smooth the album Supernatural is a classic and the live shows were spectacular.

This is my ringtone on my phone. I love this song so much. Rob is definitely my favorite male artisf.
