Fun fact: Lara adjusting her gloves at the beginning of her first verse is actually her idle animation, implying she was bored during Indiana’s verse

We won. The fans won. This battle was nothing but straight fire.

When she said "you're whole story got blown up on a sitcom" she wasn't just saying big bang randomly.  There was an episode of big bang theory where the guys basically come to the realization that nothing indy did in Raiders mattered and if you just removed him from the movie completely the exact same thing would've happened to the nazis lmao

That hits so much harder now that I remember that episode

7:53 The “chose poorly” line from Lara was a reference to Indiana Jones 3 when that guy drank the wrong holy grail and died, and the Knight said “He chose…poorly.”

“Guess you couldn’t tap that X in time” is already awesome enough, dissing on QTE. But there’s a double-meaning: “Couldn’t tap that EX in time.” Makes it truly savage

The way Scru's face just fell in shock at the "Your dad was never present" line will never fail to crack me up 😂

Fun fact:
The ‘Sword vs Gun’ scene in Indiana Jones was supposed to be a super big fight scene, but Indiana’s actor had a bad case of food poisoning so during the scene he just decided to shoot him and skip it.

That "Marion was 15 when you raided her bones, that's no time for love dr. Jones" line hits "At least when I Slytherin a sister, she isn't mine" level for me. What a battle.....

1. "You're such a toxic date you could kill a little monkey" is a reference to Raiders of the Lost Ark. A monkey eats from a bowl of poisoned dates (a type of fruit) and dies.

2. "Marion was 15 when you raided her bones" She was not 15 in the movie, their backstory is that they dated each other 10 years ago and broke up. Apparently the original script implies she was 15 when they first met, but her age is not stated in the movie, and her age in the books is inconsistent.

3. "They dropped you like a J in the floor" In The Last Crusade, Indy has to step on floor tiles that spell out "Jehovah" to get across a temple. He first tries stepping on the J, but the floor breaks and he nearly falls in a pit, because in Latin, "Iehovah" is spelled with an I.

4. "Strap some blocks on Short Round and pump the brakes." In Temple of Doom, Short Round drives a car. He has blocks tied to his feet so that he can reach the brake pedal.

“Hang up the whip before you crack a hip” is a massively underrated line

For me, this battle goes to Lara. That "Marion was 15 when you raided her bones, 'That's no time for Love, Dr. Jones!'" is the sort of line that would end someone's whole career, and her second round she came at him even harder!!  "At best the affection you got was sloppy seconds" came for Jones' entire soul!

The fact that Indiana went so damn hard, hard enough for a double don, and Lara STILL not only matched him but arguably won is absolutely incredible.

I love how high pitched Scru got with "She didn't look 15!" 😆Same way Indiana would sound getting statutory charges. 💀

“You took 3D to uncharted territory now your just in Uncharteds territory overshadowed by Drake like Lil Wayne” that is a bar if I ever heard one! That one cut deep!

I love how watching Scru always gives me a new appreciation for the battles. He's flipped so many of my opinions on these battles because he knows his battle rapping. Truly legendary.

Thank you Scru for teaching us how to pick apart these battles.

For me it was Lara—it was the constant rebuttals when Indy should have had it (he left himself open too much, the perils of going first)

Edit: also, Lara’s “You’re not John Williams—you ain’t scoring” is a rebuttal to Indy’s R1 “first 4 notes” bar

"If you came for blood, SHE CAME FOR PLASMA" made me choke. Great reaction.

"You're a dog, Indiana. That's facts!"

"We named the dog Indiana."
What a sick bar!

Great Commentary as usual. Just a note, Marion was not 15 in Raiders of the lost ark, she was 25, but they talk about having had a relationship prior to this movie ten years earlier... Inday said "I never meant to hurt you" and she said "I was a child I was in love", yes Indy was having a relationship with her when she was only 15

The John Williams not scoring was a great rebuttal. He said first 4 notes of his entrance music accomplished more then anything she's ever done.
