Devil May Crys Most HATED Game… I Got the Platinum

Trophy Cor

31,422 views

In this video, I show you my journey to get the Platinum Trophy for DMC: Devil May Cry (Reboot), the most controversial game in the franchise.

...and for good reason, the story is REALLY hard to buy into. Dante and Vergils characters are... fine but the story behind it is tough. Vergil seemingly does nothing in the background.

The trophy list is revamped from the PS3 version and to me it seems a lot easier. I was really worried about the "Dante Must Die" difficulty as DMC are notoriously hard but honestly with the Die and reset before that fight with full health it makes it all trivial.

I enjoyed my time towards the end with Dante but Vergil... not great, thankfully it was only 5 missions and 1 "real" boss fight.

Thank you for all the love on this! I’ve got more Platinum videos coming.. as soon as next week... Any guesses? 👀

Trophy names being reference to quotes of different characters from the original series is a nice wink wink from the devs. Definitely on my list, even though I like original more it's always good to have something different.

Even big boys cry sometimes

This one is actually my favourite, mostly because of the easier controls.

I can understand why hardcore DMC fans might have hated this on release since it basically reimagines everything… but as a first timer & latecomer to the series, I was pleasantly surprised at how fun this game was to platinum. Awesome game!! Great to see this on your channel too, congrats Corey!

I don't hate it, if anything it gave me freedom to try out different variations of combo pauses from different weapons instead of just one.

@jonathanvang8114 1 year ago

people hate it because its a whole new story not for its gameplay

might be the most hated but its one of the best

Great vid! As a long time DMC fan, I really enjoyed this game. The combat felt good, loved the world design and mobility. Wasn't overly keen on the characters/story in comparison, but still a solid game.

As for platinums, unless you're really hardcore, I wouldn't recommend doing all of DMC. 4 & 5 have trophies for getting S rank on all missions for all difficulties...

If you wanna feel the difficulty though, 4 & 5 have Hell and Hell mode. You die in 1 hit (with 3 free revives), the enemies have normal stats. Its really fun, and a proper challenge!

I am (almost ) as old school a DMC fan as it gets. I still play 1, a new vision in gaming, with awe and pleasure every few years. 3 and 4 are succeeding masterpieces with 4 making an important bridge into the next gen in terms of basic gameplay. What is amazing is that when 5 "finally" came out to satisfy all of the "true" fans, few of them realized that it was actually, technically and in most other ways, far inferior to what 4 had established at that time. Meantime, they let ill-timed publicity about Dante's hair and shit, rankle them too much--and seemed not care so much about a game that progressed in any way after 4 followed three. Ninjatheory's game is the one to do that--and even the story, for me, serves very well to tell us of a world just before the one we see in DMC 1 came to be. I think in terms of basic gameplay (and espeically on higher difficulties) it is the best game in whole Devil May Cry franchise, and, being that, obviously possibly my favorite game ever. I love it! Shame we never got the other two in the trilogy...

Cool video 👍 actually got all the achievements/trophies for this game myself recently too, been playing DMC since i was a kid but only just got around to playing this one. I definitely prefer the others but I still had fun 👍 it's pretty cool that most (maybe all?) of the trophy names are quotes from the other games too

18:33 i remember on the ps3 version you have to sss every mission in nephilim difficulty

@Daxter_158 11 months ago

Well done 😊 I also have this on PS4 and PS3. I don't get the hate this gets, it's a great game easily one of the best of the series.

Man this game was a great part of my childhood and i really didnt understand the hate, now after playing some of the DMC games i get it. This game has the DMC 1 combat that is more stiff but none of its originallity (ex when you jump and attack shadow while in skewer you can make it go ball form instantly and insta kill the boss) and it looks like its trying to get to the players that prefer DMC 3 with the trophies names like 80% are a reference to one liners of that game but it dont make any sense to what you did to get the trophie. I still think that it is a good game in a void that had good ideas that were inplemented later in the series, but it looks like they didnt know who were the target audience.
