I think the Chris Chan mother situation was the event that made the whole lolcow thing go mainstream, because it turned his story into a form of true crime.

The term you were looking for people that look worse or the same as lolcows it called a-logging named after the originial a-log anthony logatto

The women and gays comment rings true. It's like they adopt a niche with this air of "true understanding" above those who have covered it before. Then they leave, tourists.

They never even give credit to the farms.

I feel like lolcow content peaked with metokur, toad McKinley, Cecil mcfly, and Down the Rabbit hole. The only guy that comes close to scratch that itch is mikeynohmore.

TPC is an interesting case, not only because he has clear strong troll's remorse (check Preservetube & Internet Archive for all his deleted videos), but he is close personal friends with KF power users/semi-lolcows online like Vinluv Anton Handesbukia. Very strange case...

I think Dylan Thomas would be a good case of lolcow YouTuber becoming a cow himself. There was the emotional breakdown over content not covering Chris-chan floundering,  he alienated rogueinternetman over nothing, and it had been pretty clear he wanted to be the new metokur.

There are lessons to be had about human nature when covering lolcows, but I do concede the point it's like wading through a sewer. But a big part of being a lolcow is the inability to learn from mistakes. They often try to brute force reality to their will, which makes them too ridiculous to not laugh at.

The fact that most lolcows are scammers, I see as the first and foremost point of calling them out. The life factors that led them to be here (i.e. Lore) just helps to understand how we all "got here," so to speak.
These individuals (lolcows) NEED to be covered.
The act of public shaming shapes our society.

I've said it before; all these "moral" lolcow posters are just like Dr. Phil and Jeremy Kyle aping Jerry Springer's schtick. They just played to middle class moms who felt like they were above watching Jerry Springer and made it more palatable to them by giving it a moral, humanitarian veneer.

I deadass stopped caring about when it started becoming another butchered buzzword on the internet, it's start making my skin crawl when I see people say/use the term now even correctly. I think the worst part is hearing my on sis say it once 💀

I should not be hearing IRLs use certain terminology.

I enjoy Deadwing dork, he looks at lot of these "users" and lolcow weirdos but doesn't really get involved to the same level as others unless they do something to him in which case he responds, usually to a relatively measured response, and that usually enough to put an end to things (or torpedo the users whole career ala Synnibear). Hell, he's even stated he finds tophia and Nova boring and hasn't really covered them at all. Even Ditch and Larson he's only done like one or two streams on.

People like those would most likely cry about KF being a bullying forum, while the only difference between the two is that these youtubers don't say slurs and are dumber about their internet safety than a TikTok teenager.
