Im live on twitch three times  a week Saturday Wednesday Monday at 6pm est come say hi I also upload here atleast 3 times a week ❤ please drop a follow it means alot

The last game is cheetamen it gets its own video

You should see the cheetahmen episode, is the part 2 of action 52.

Glad you got to see the Nintoaster properly introduced lmao

Fascinating story behind this game: the guy behind it, Vince Perri, was the head of a struggling company called Active Enterprises. He was inspired to make this game after finding a bootleg NES multi-cart, and he thought, “Why not make this, but legal? This could be what saves my company!” So he hired 4 college students to work on this game for 3 months while he just kicked back and did nothing.

After Nintendo rejected the “finished” game, he resorted to all sorts of stunts to sell it, including a contest for $104,000 ($52,000 cash, $52,000 in scholarships). One Sega Genesis port and cancelled handheld console later, Active Enterprises went under and Perri disappeared without a trace

$199 in 1991 is over $480 today.

You could get 1/4 of Sims DLC for that price.

The creator of this was actually inspired by finding one of those "10000 in 1" cartriges.

That's an edit, Shit Pickle was a one off character James Rolfe made to be a guest appearance and player for one of his AVGN videos, i don't remember which one though. Despite that, Shit Pickle became a popular "mascot" and running joke for the AVGN series even though he was only meant to be used once, and as the enemies in Ooze looked similar to Shit Pickle, James decided to use him for that segment as a joke.

The last game is the next episode/separated video, Cheetahmen

Game 1 is the only game that does not have a single player mode

The Nintoaster is an invention made by another YouTuber and friend named Richard with the channel Vomitsaw. Richard would send some custom made consoles to James and Mike and other members part of old Cinemassacre. In the 2nd part of Atari Jaguar he sent a disk drive to Richard in hopes of fixing it but Rich couldn't and returned it along with a custom made Pong console as an apology for not being able to fix it and an apology narration on the many attempts he tried.

7:16 No, he said that only one of the games is two player ONLY

There was a contest where if you beat Ooze, you'd get a screen and a mailing address to enter a contest to win $52,000 and a $52,000 scholarship.
Too bad Ooze crashes and thus that screen is literally impossible to see on real hardware.

948 - Sh*t Pickle is an original recurring AVGN character

Game #52 is Cheetahmen, the main selling point of the whole cartridge. It is so unbelievably bad it got its very own episode. Check it out.

13:47 I am fairly certin "fettuc" is short for fettuccini , especially with the "Alfredo" coming first.

There are some things I've heard about this game, but it should be taken with a grain of salt:

This was made by 4 (started as 3) developers (without much experience coding for the NES) over the course of 3 months (all 52 games were made from the ground up);
Mid-air death is because of the way they programmed fall damage (how long you're off the ground, not how hard you hit it);
Level geometry and collision are more of a suggestion (that's why some enemies pass through walls and floors);
There's next to no feedback (that's why he couldn't tell whether or not he was taking damage);
Enemies not spawning is because of a sprite limit (on the game's end, not the console's);
Jumping is programmed to take priority (that's why you can't hold the button while also moving);
A lot of copy-pasted, unoptimized code;
The two games that didn't work (Alfredo and Jigsaw, both generic platformers) didn't work in this revision by design (a different version where they work exists, but they were advertised as unlockables on this one);
It starts at Ooze because they copied code from a bootleg cart that also started at the 5th game;
A lot of the music is taken from elsewhere because they didn't have time to finish;
Idea guy (creative lead) kept changing his mind, allegedly;
The games didn't have time to be play-tested;
(Some) sprites were assigned at random;
The team is entirely comprised of Americans, so I don't get the misspelling (you're right about "crytical" being wrong);
There are more levels (with some exceptions) of these games, which this video doesn't show, but the requirements (mostly scoring high enough, because scores are a thing here) are preposterous

Please continue in this video's part 2: Cheetahmen!  Don't leave us hanging!  Finish this two part video saga, please!  It's freakin hilarious!  Love your vids, Tippy!

I found out about Action 52 circa 2008, when a Scottish Youtuber named mikeyspiky200 (who hasn't uploaded anything in well over a decade). He played through every level of every game on the cartridge (or, at least, every level that actually worked). He even included a problem counter that crept upwards every single time he found a problem during his review (which crossed over several videos because of YouTube video length restrictions at the time).

This is Shitpickle.
🥒
He’s actually an original character that James created. In the AVGN timeline, Shitpickle first appeared in his review of Master Chu And The Drunkard Hu (NES) all the way back in 2006.
…and yes, he does follow the Pokémon logic of communicating by saying his name (or part of it) repeatedly.
