Your bank app, WhatsApp and Bitcoin are protected by maths that today's computers cannot break. A new kind of machine, the quantum computer, could one day break it, and the estimate of how big that machine needs to be keeps shrinking.

In 2019, experts estimated that breaking bank-grade encryption would take about 20 million qubits. By 2025 that fell below 1 million. In March 2026, Google said Bitcoin's lock could fall with fewer than half a million. No such machine exists today. This video explains, in plain language, what that means for your money and your messages.

In this video:
• How a "maths lock" works, explained with simple multiplication
• Public key vs private key: your house address and your house key
• What a quantum computer is: the spinning-coin explanation
• Why the machine hasn't been built yet
• The number that keeps shrinking: 20 million, 1 million, half a million
• Google's "9 minutes" for Bitcoin, and what it really means
• About 6.9 million bitcoins in exposed addresses, and Satoshi's coins
• Bitcoin's freeze debate
• "Steal now, open later": why today's data is already at risk
• Is WhatsApp quantum-safe?
• How the world is changing the locks: NIST, Cloudflare, the US, RBI and Pakistan
• When experts think Q-Day could come, and two simple things you can do

Sources named in the video include Google Quantum AI, IBM, NIST, the White House, Chainalysis, CryptoQuant, Signal, Apple, Cloudflare, the Reserve Bank of India and the Global Risk Institute.

This video is for education only and is not financial advice. No quantum computer can break this encryption today.

This video is in Urdu. English subtitles are available.
