I've Sailed 57 Cruises. Here's My Honest Tier List.

With 57 cruises under my belt since 1999, I'm ranking 13 of my most recent sailings on a Tiermaker tier list - and I'm not holding back. From budget-friendly options to true luxury, every ship gets an honest verdict based purely on the experience.

In this video I rank Queen Elizabeth, Celebrity Edge, Royal Princess, Sun Princess, Norwegian Spirit, Disney Wonder, Carnival Adventure, Seven Seas Explorer, Star Princess, Anthem of the Seas, Discovery Princess, Celebrity Solstice, and Crown Princess - and yes, at least one placement is going to start an argument.

My tiers range from S - "I Didn't Want to Disembark" - all the way down to D - "I Was Counting the Hours”! Which ships made it to the top, and which ones let me down? Watch to find out.
Every ship on this list has a full review on the channel - links to the most popular ones are below.

Thanks for watching! Two questions for you in the comments:

Which placement made you the most angry?
What's YOUR personal S-tier cruise - whether it's on this list or not?

Every ship in this video has a full review on the channel - search "The Cruise and Travel Guy" + the ship name to find them all.
And if you're thinking about booking any of these ships, I can help with that too - link in description.

Putting Australians on a short booze cruise on Cunard must have been like trying to mix chalk with cheese😂.

Thanks Adrian. We have had one cruise on Cunard in Queens Grill class and it was a very good experience. We would have booked again except they changed their itineraries. All the best.

Great honest review totally agree with your opinion of Crown Princess, the public areas just can’t accommodate the people on board and my favourite cruise was on Celebrity Solstice what a beautiful ship.

@bradreeves9728 4 months ago

Telling that your favorite cruises tended to be longer.. We can all agree that short 3-5 day cruises are terrible. They are crowded, rushed and boozy. Our least favorite was a four night cruise on Carnival Encounter.

Our favorites were longer 14 day cruises, one on Cunard's wonderful Queen Victoria in the Eastern Med; we didn't want to get off Our other was a 2 week river cruise with Travelmarvel from Amsterdam to Budapest.

The longer cruises are so much more relaxed and give you time to meld in with the ship.

A great review, thank you Adrian.
Good to have a, necessarily brief, comparison of the ships - their strengths and weaknesses.
Appreciate the Tiermaker format, it makes it easy to see how you have rated the ships relative to each other, applying the different levels - "I didn't want to disembark" through to "I was counting the hours".
I'll take a look at the videos you mentioned, in particular for the Seven Seas Explorer and Celebrity Solstice to find out more about their "stay on board" appeal.

Thanks for explaining everything. I am a US based cruiser and for many years only cruised Carnival. After they canceled their loyalty program I tried other lines and found I like the Icon class of ships on Royal the best. I need to try Celebrity next. I never tried a Cunard ship and this kinda puts me off to Cunard. Thanks for sharing this, love your channel.

From the few cruises that I have been on, here.
I agree 100% with your ratings.
Solstice,
Edge,
Crown,
Any Carnival.
I had exactly the same experiences.
To the tee.

Very interesting and amusing Adrian. Thoroughly enjoyed this video with a Gin in hand. Absolutely love Princess and am going on Crown in September and Grand in June next year so it will be interesting to see if I’m as impressed as always. Will be looking at Regent and Celebrity following your fun Tier Reveal . THANKYOU.

Totally agree with you about Disney. We sailed on Disney Fantasy last year. It is a “one-and done” for us. It did not feel like a cruise to us - more like a theme park adventure. I’m American and I thought the food was really bad. The adult-only area was on the Lido deck just next to the Ice Cream station - with kids running through there every couple of minutes. The service was abysmal! Although, my Disney cruise would have landing in the “D” row.

Great video went I Solstice from Hawaii to Vancouver this past April I agree loved my time aboard…. Doing Explorer in July to Alaska can’t wait

Agree overall with your placings especially Solstice & we sailed on her prior to the refit & loved it. We're looking to book on her again to check out the changes. A special mention is also deserved for Celebrity Millennium as she punches well above her weight for food & service. Our cruise on her around Japan was an absolute standout amongst over 30 cruises 😊 Having access to Elite Plus perks certainly doesn't hurt the Celebrity experience either 😉

Great video, Yes Cynthia is great to deal with, she was very helpful with my last Edge cruise. I am looking forward to the January cruise meeting you guys and some other followers and seeing this ship you liked so much. I have sailed Solstice and Edge as a solo and i have to say i would not be going back as a single. Boring but both amazing ships, especial Solstice. I really think to complete your list you need to bite the bullet and sail Splendor. I just want to hear your opinion. 😆.

I'm going on my first cruise next month with Evan from Family at Sea and my Haitian friends. We're all cruise virgins. It's just a 3 hr mini dinner cruise on AML out of Quebec city.

We were on QE the same time as you but we stayed onboard for the next cruise. We loved QE but Queen Vic was next level … I hope you get a chance to try her too.

@Jeffrey-xe2ki 4 months ago

We’ve been on the QMII and the Queen Elizabeth and our experience on both was the polar opposite to yours on QE. The staff and all were exceptional. We will only book Cunard at this point simply because of their atmosphere, style, service and staff.

Your comments concerning Princess. In 1998, NY Harbour she came sailing in. Shiny, new, Huge, The Grand Princess was all that and so much more. At that time she was the Ultimate in cruise ships. Fast forward almost 30 years and she is a small cruise liner. I suppose the salt water has shrunk her. LOL. It is all perspective I think. Have a great weekend.

Great video Adrian, thanks for your rankings. To cruise on Seven Seas and Celebrity Solstice is definitely high on our travel plans now…🚢 🍺🍻

My S tier cruise, my one ship I did not want to disembark, is the Norwegian Encore. That observation lounge is THE highlight of the ship. The modern decor, delicious food, reasonably priced drink package, we really lucked out with the talent on board as well. The cruise director was also one of the funniest I’ve seen, she was great! I loved it all.
