The irony of watching these type of videos on social media will never die.

Mom was right all along, it was the phone.

Social media has made everyone want too much from life.

"I haven't made this much eye contact with what I'm eating since my honeymoon" .
That made me laugh!

Dude I did a challenge like this for 120 days, it was one of the most difficult times of my life, but but the end of it, my brain and thinking was so different that I even questioned why I even thought I had ADHD, I definitely don't, but the challenge did wake me up to the realization that boredom is good and sugar is my most evil enemy, I have dramatically reduced my intake on all things from social media to what I eat, lost 13kg during the challenge and took up hiking and reading which I still do to this day...

I really wish these videos included a "2 weeks after" segment, because my suspicion is most people will go back to their old habits very soon

Social media is absolute cancer.

doing the influencer "oh my god, that's good" after eating a raw apple is crazy work

Grindr on the phone 😂😂😂

“Omg, I’m so hungry! I haven’t made this much eye contact with what I’m eating since my honeymoon “ 😂

deleted Instagram, tiktok, Snapchat, put time limits on everything stimulating on my phone, turned the color to black and white.. alcohol only on special occasions.. no weed 21 months, no nicotine 25 months.. but here I am still glued to YouTube. I need to start reading man.

edit: turn off YouTube shorts; tap profile > settings icon > time management > scroll to bottom > set limit to 0 minutes

This is why I keep developing my hobbies like carpentry, photography, fishing etc. They are screen free and allow my imagination and thoughts to flow without interruption.

grabbed a bag of chips and coke zero to watch this video

“I need to rely on myself to create my own stimulation rather than relying on an algorithm to spoon feed it to me” was genuinely a good realization

my top 5 tested non-toxic tips:
1. scrabble (steep learning curve but insanely fun)
2. nature (identify species, snap pics. it's like catching pokemon. also gardening/foraging hehe)
3. fixing and tinkering with stuff (the other day I spent 5 hours installing motion sensor + raspberry pi to automate lighting/cameras in my backyard. learned a lot)
4. learning stuff (a language, tools etc.)
5. do something mundane in a new place (like pack up a lunch and go eat by the river. or grab that book and go read it in a cafe)

Buying the book 'The Silent Patient' while saying "I don't want to be scared" 😅

I've found that the best balance for social media/entertainment consumption is:
do NOT touch your phone for the first 2 hours of the day, and try not to think about it. After that it's free reign (but you'll find you won't want to use it nearly as much), and then putting it down 1 hour before bed.
The days I do that are days where I can truly enjoy the moment.

Stopped watching the video immediately to quit all poisons for the next 7 days. Will report back.

Social media creates unecessary needs

As someone who has been off social media for over 2 years (YT only) I cannot stress how much happier and more fulfilled I am without it
