4 games in, the Canucks are fun and Petey looks engaged again. Enjoy the wins, but stay patient with the rebuild.

I don’t want Canuck fans to be concerned with where they end up seeding, especially if it’s higher than expected. Keep in mind, it’s a deep draft and there is a possibility of them placing in the bottom 10 and still moving up in the lottery. I know, I know that’s crazy right, but if Toronto and NY can then so can Vancouver. Just keep that in mind.

Watching Petey banging bodies iut there is wonderful to see, he's a great hockey player when he's engaged. I'm an old right winger and I like the old school hard checks Peteys throwung around. Good man.

I think that the Canucks are now in a place where they can just "be".  Their players are all still prideful people who want to play hard and win and so when they can they will do that...They were never going to go 0-84... Four games in and it has been fun so far!

I somehow still have downloads of the kurtenblog from all the way back in 2011. Crazy to see all the iterations it's been through since then and yet is still fundamentally the same

Another great episode HalBro. Rumor has it that after EP40’s legendary performance on Saturday night against the Calgary Flames highlighted by his tremendous open ice hit in the 3rd period that lead to a beauty goal that the “Church of Pettersson” is now re opening and accepting new members in Oct 2026. One of EP40’s best weekends of hockey in years ~ “People keep asking if i’m back and I haven’t really had an answer. But now, yeah, I’m thinkin’ I’m back” ~ John Wick (2014)

'Excuse me, it's my first time outside', that was funny!

It’s not that the Canucks are too good… it’s Calgary, Detroit, Columbus, etc. are going to be worse

My take on Petterssons situation is this. He felt he was injured, and the team didnt back him, rather it was, try harder you are worthless considering what we are paying. And this went on with JT and others piling on, Tocchet most of all. While it might have been a little less under Foote, JR/allvin kept piling on. And if there is one thing I have learned being a leader is that you have to treat people different. Some people you can kick and be mad at and he will take it as a challenge and be better. But some people you have to encourage when they are feeling down, I dont mean cuddle, thats what makes them stronger. And believe one thing above all, 99% of players know if they are playing good or not, you dont really have to tell them

Start time at 5:01

You guys are finally seeing what i saw at the time. Petey is a very introverted personally and they were constantly trying to make him something he's not. It was obvious to me but you all bought into it. How many times did JR compare him to Sidney Crosby? It's obvious that he felt he was being attacked for just being who he was and is. It just made him withdraw even more. I'm shocked that you didn't see it at the time

You need to make the nerds recurring characters.

Isn't the purpose of a Rebuild to make the Team Better? That doesn't have to mean it NEEDS TO TAKE A LONG TIME; OR MUST BE DONE SLOWLY. HOWEVER it is done, and THAT it is DONE is ALL that should matter. Having High Draft picks also does not necessarily guarantee a successful rebuild - especially considering the Canucks lousy draft selections history. Don't stop or slow down progress just for the sake of keeping the rebuild a SLOW, DRAWN OUT Process. Just IMPROVE the team to a steady, competitive, and eventually consistently championship challenging calibre, as quickly as possible. That doesn't mean doing whatever  to make one wild stab at it all. Think long term repetitive success, and competitiveness. That doesn't mean though that it needs to take forever to do that.

I don't think it's the fans they should be worrying about when it comes to changing team plans on the fly.   Legendary goof-owners meddling throughout the good part of a decade.   Remember back when Linden was the President of Ops and better days were ahead?  They had no problem ending that plan from arguably the most famous Canuck of all. Everyone respects Johnson, Manny and Sedins plans, but it doesn't matter if ownership is moronic.

As long as it’s not Spence diamonds I’m fine

ovechkin being a putin guy.. okay.. lets put that into perspective,
the entire US olympic gold squad.. celebrated with FBI crosseyed goofballs, and went to white house and congress to cheer with those people.
not exactly a squeaky clean bunch either. and bettman still takes the cup winners to white house to whomever the criminal there is.

Where can I get that Jays hat ?

Petey will be the perfect 3rd line centre for when cootes and Malhotra are ready to take over in 5 tears when Petey is 33. Look at guys like Pageau, (Conn Smythe Winner) Eric Staal. He will be a very experienced Calder Winning 3rd line center... kinda like what manny was in his years with us.

Will Brady Henderson be on the show in the future?

Just a bit of feedback. I noticed that in the podcast version, there’s always a commercial break in the middle of a segment. It seems a bit disruptive as a listener.
