Hello bro, my opinion is That physical will never die... a new digital release will cost 50-60-70 euros for example and physical with some cards /pins /whatever as extras will cost 200 euros.. My point is That will become a premium sport /collector's only hobby and it's sad

eliminating physical discs will eliminate backwards compatibility unless bought off the store and or remastered. Now seeing sales for remasters ris,  its clear that ceo’s and certain developers have no idea how to create a new game that players want to play

We must support physical games no support without physical games

Those freaking price listings on Hellraiser Revivial for ps5 and series x are diabolical. Seems the scalpers are taking advantage of the fomo.

I still say it today. Once they closed the PS3 & vita store they'll go back on there word on physical games.

Most new sony games are $120 in australia . If i get 200 plus hours thats ok but not alot of games get that attention. No disc no buy .

Physical media gives us options. If Playstation stops production of discs they will have a monopoly over all future titles to charge full price for them!! You can literally find physical games much cheaper than digital!!

No we did not buy them games because we want to piss Sony off we wanted to buy them because we want to own them and see the thing about wolverine people going to want to own that game by the way that's the reason why it's sold a lot better on a disc you can actually owned it and have it in your hands because if they ever lose the license for this game you won't be able to get it down the line I could do the same thing what they did with Deadpool the video game where you can't get that game oh yeah one more thing the whole GTA 6 thing I guarantee if the game had a disc they were probably sold more than the digital version of it but no we can't cuz we have no choice at all they just made it digitally this is the reason why a lot of people are saying this will be our last GTA game if they're going to make all their games digitally now I'm not supporting that this will be my last Rockstar game cuz I waited for a GTA game and then they're going to make it digitally that sucks for me I would love to buy it for the disc

Another thing worth taking into consideration is that they just don’t print the same numbers as in older gen. There are multiple instances of people going to the store with the intention of buying q physical copy at release then it’s sold out the same day. FOMO kicks in and they go back home and purchase the digital game. That also screws with the number had there been more physical prints which obviously is something the cut down on in preparation for killing it entirely. You don’t go from 100% print capacity to 0% over night.

I will never buy digital never

I just don’t care for GTA anymore.
I have so much to get through, I just don’t have time for a GTA anything.

As a new Nintendo player , I’ll do my best for full game cartridges

According to my research so far  it look like the 3rd party games does key cards first then full game cartridges later on . The first party games always get the full game cartridges but does sell out very quickly , especially on the popular games. They just reprinted full cartridges of Indiana jones and oblivion remastered

Nintendo seems to try to be going physical so far .

I think physical will stay.  I don't think these corporate meat puppets have a clue what people want actually want.  At the end of the day if you look out for number one and everyone else be damned. You'll just end up alone (sony)

Is it worth buying a mouse pi for hire? 😄

Please demand better news coverage for games from media and content creators.... here are the facts....

This information is from analyst which is not wholly accurate and is a from reports from physical sales and PROJECTIONS of digital sales.

Wolverine sales are projected to be 2.16 million worldwide  with 756k sold physically. This number accounts for roughly 35% of all sales. (So despite the the eye catching headline even the projection shows that digital sales are outpacing physical nearly 2 to 1)

A game key card triggers a digital download for the game and the actual physical cartridge is the DRM which allows you to play the digital version. (So yes its a physical copy that distributes the digital version of the game)

This sales data is for 15 days in the market and does not account for the lifetime of sales which is what a game company would look at to determine if physical games are still viable. (If physical sales have topped out and digital sales continued to grow the 2 to 1 ratio mentioned early is likely to be larger in 3 months time, 6 months time, 12 months time)

Sony does not count digital microtransactions in the calculation of physical games vs digital games....they do count digital only games because you don't get to cherry pick sales data when considering total game sales data...the irony here is that until recently there are no major triple A games that are digital only so the discrepancy between lifetime digital sales vs lifetime digital sales is because while physical sales may start competitive with digital....over the lifetime of sales the numbers tend to skew heavily towards digital which is what Sony is looking at...not just 15 days worth of sales.

Used games, traded games (the second hand market in general) does not count as part of the lifetime physical game sales figures and massively erodes the lifetime sales of physical games since the longer a game is out the less likely people are likely to purchase a game new physically and will purchase a used physical copy which does not count as a sale.

Watch the gta6 leeks, realize its nothing new or special, and let take two sweat.

Some of these Switch 2 games are simply excellent and there will be physical to play beyond 2028

It's still dying I still haven't seen or heard about Sony ever changing their minds 😐

Nobody in countries paying near 100 dollars for video games are keeping these games after they are finished with them.

I have sold all of them and don’t regret it but going forward they can keep it because I choose Nintendo as day one purchase going forward
