I'm a 22 year NHL fan, I thought booing your commissioner at every opportunity was a normal sports thing

The smartest thing manfred did was start the rule changes in the minors, it doesn’t matter what the fans or media think about the rules because they only effect the players. So by the time manfred was able to implement those new rules, there were already players in the league use to the new rules. Very smart implementation

Pat McAfee ragging on someone getting paid millions to speak while drunk is HILARIOUS

I’m not expecting him to look like a pro. But, Manfred throws a baseball like a toddler. 😂

I'll be honest, I love how this channel goes out of its way to challenge established narratives in the baseball community. It helps give new perspectives on ideas we all just assume to be true (The Astros are dirty cheaters, Angel Hernandez can't umpire, Manfred is ruining the game), and gives new perspectives on them. It's doubtful they will completely shift the narrative, but I think it's great that someone with a big enough following is trying to do this, despite as far as I know, not being directly affiliated with MLB.

I tried getting into baseball about 6 years ago on a deployment. So boring and could never finish a game. Now I feel like I can watch at least 2 full games and not even feel like I’m losing out on a full day. Thanks Rob, you giant bastard

One big thing that you missed that I think isn't talked about enough is how much he's pushed for international growth in baseball. There's more foreign born players than ever and not only is the league doing a good job of marketing them, they're also doing a lot of cool things with the games in London and Mexico and Korea and Japan and so on. Not to mention all the investment they made into the World Baseball Classic, which saw huge returns especially in markets outside the US where that kind of World Cup competition goes insanely hard

Gotta give him props. He has brought a lot of people back to the game and social media has allowed people In their early career to treat games as a social event rather than die hard fans

I mean you gotta respect this guy for having the balls to challenge a narrative over the internet

He's doing his job in the big picture. Hatred is part of being an executive in the 21st century, and he's taking the hits.

Pitch clock alone has been one of the best changes to baseball ever so many people i know that hadnt watched baseball in years picked it up again bc of how much easier it is to watch the game with the quickened pace

Im 24 and i wouldnt have ever watched baseball without these changes

Man, you know people are ready to explode at that title on Opening Day.

Good thing Baseball Doesn't Exist.

The pitch clock is easily the best change MLB has made in decades, with the pickoff cap being great too.  There was nothing worse than watching a 5 minute at bat because the pitcher/catcher couldn't get on the same page, or because of 672 attempted pickoffs at 1B. And this is coming from an old head who was basically born with a glove in my hand.

I think one thing that doesn't get mentioned about the decline in youth participation was the 2009 Great recession. An entire generation of kids whose lives became way more economically perilious and the money for little league just was not there for a lot of families.

6:30 limiting commercials will never go unnoticed.

someone hated for a sport that doesn’t exist

yeah I gotta give it Manfred. I started watching baseball right before the pitch clock, and yeah it was fun, but I wasn't really engaged, just looking up at the game every once in a while. Now with the pitch clock, and me actually going in person to more games, this was something that was desperately needed.

The blackouts are a bit ridiculous. Especially on $150 service. The same service that wasn't working on opening day.
