You picked the perfect day to release this my friend. Today is the 90 years of Popeye.

Popeye should’ve been released, also I’m surprised you didn’t mentioned Sonys original plans on making a Sonic The Hedgehog and Super Mario movie.

I’m glad someone covered the ghostbusters animated film, feels like it doesn’t get discussed much. I remember it was suppose to release before afterlife (2021) but nothing and there was a plot that said this movie centered around a ghost’s point of view. The current animated movie coming could be the same project but I don’t know.

It really stinks that the Popeye film didn’t go into full fruition; I remember when I first saw the teaser and went “Yes! Now THIS looks promising!” Can’t win em’ all.

Not gonna lie I would’ve liked to see Medusa, sounds interesting and I love the designs

I hope someday we get a Popeye movie. For now, those animatics are worth looking for because they look incredible!!!!!❤

Sony’s Popeye got cancelled not because of the horrid Emoji movie, but because King Features owns the rights to the Popeye character. That’s it.

Damm I would have love to see a new twist movie of Medusa.

FYI; Alf isn't a Muppet. He has no direct connection to the Jim Henson Co. But MAN, why can't Popeye seem to get a break?! =\ =)

Next, we should do Hanna-Barbera lost stuff

You know, if I were in charge of Sony Pictures Animation, rather than greenlighting "The Emoji Movie", I'd probably instead sell it off to the Weinstein Company, and probably get Lauren Faust to co-direct with Genndy Tartakovsky on the Popeye movie. Two former Cartoon Network-legends, the creators of Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and Friendship is Magic, working on a feature film starring a character just one year younger than Mickey Mouse (he was first put on print in 1929, a year after Mickey's debut in "Steamboat Willie"), and a well-known icon of animation's Golden Age, thanks to the legendary Fleischer brothers, who first brought the character to the big screen in 1933 (these shorts during the Golden Age of Animation were indeed released in movie theaters. During that time, movie theaters were obligated to buy packages which included, along with a feature film, short subjects, which could also be live-action, like "The Three Stooges", or "The Little Rascals", that appeared before the movie would start).

This is why I haven't seen a Popeye movie for years now.

The Robin Williams Popeye movie was very funny I wonder what Tom Kenny would have brought to popeye

Well that's not entirely true because in 2021, The Smurfs franchise did received a brand new animated TV series that aired on Nickelodeon simply titled "The Smurfs". This 2nd animated TV series somewhat acts as a follow up to the 2017 film "Smurfs: The Lost Village", where we see our memorable Smurf characters of both clans (Boys & Girls) interacting in their day to day lives with various activities and misadventures. So I guess that's something.

Seems like Paramount is the new distributor of the new Smurfs movie, which is ironic given that it was originally gonna have a movie.

ALF mentioned, my day has been made

I Remember seeing the trailer on YouTube as a child, and being so excited! I thought it was some sort of fever dream 🤔

The Ghostbusters Animated film is still happening, as stated at Ghostbusters Con last year. With IMDB stating it will be released in 2025, well then again anyone can edit IMDB so I'm not to sure about that. We do know that the film would apparently be told from the perspective of the Ghosts, but we don't know whether it would've been a new story or the original film told from their perspective.

I remember seeing the Popeye Movie Teaser of this animation test of Popeye and Olive Oil back in 2016 and I was excited for this movie when seeing Hotel Transylvania 2 in theaters. But unfortunately I was bum out that the Awful Emojie Movie took its place.

I really would love to see a proper old fashion Popeye and honestly the clip you showed looked pretty good looks wise. If people want to continue to ruin Ghostbusters, that's fine because the only thing i loved was The Real Ghostbusters and nothing can touch that. ALF however, I hope stays buried in the fiery cauldron of Mt Doom. I HATED that thing then and I still do now.
